Defeat Enemies In Every Stage
The most basic way to gather money is to defeat all the foes you encounter in every stage. They will drop a distinct amount of money when they are destroyed, depending on the difficulty you're playing in.
Defeat Boosted Or Marked Enemies
Boosted or marked enemies drop more money than those without any distinctive marks. They are sturdier & harder to kill but well worth the monetary rewards.
Bring Down Unnamed Boss Targets
When you reach higher difficulties, you'll encounter unnamed boss targets. These have stage boss lifespans & several can appear in one stage simultaneously, making it a challenge to bring them down. However, they do reward you with tons of coin.
Open Money Barrels
Money barrels can be found in the field in every stage. When you're starting a stage with 0 money, this is one of the best ways to bring up your cash count so you can buy items or activate shrines.
Sacrifice Health For Money In Shrine of Blood
The Shrine of Blood will take a varying percentage of your health in exchange for money when you activate it. Be sure that the area is clear and you're not surrounded so you won't die when your life is low.
Where Can Money Be Used
Opening Chests & Equipment Barrels To Get Items
Money is mainly used to get items & equipment by opening chests or equipment barrels. Items / equipment are needed to bulk up your stats & give you an advantage over battle so be sure to open them up whenever you can afford them.

Multishop Terminals allow you to pick 1 out of 3 items, for a price. These are randomly generated and prices change depending on the rarity of the item.
Repairing Drones To Aid You
You'll need money to repair any drone you'll find in the field. Drones aid you in battle depending on their function, whether healing you to keep you alive or helping you gun down enemies.
Activating Jump Pads
Some jump pads in Risk of Rain 2 require money to be activated. Using jump pads will lead you to hard-to-reach location that can contain chests and even Newt Altars!
Using Certain Equipment
The "Crowdfunder" equipment requires you to pay every time you use it. This equipment doesn't have a cooldown but needs you to have money in your wallet for you to activate it.
Convert To XP At Teleporter
At the end of the stage, after charging the Teleporter, your earned money will be converted to experience points. This increases your attack & HP when you level up. However it's best to use your money to stock up on items in preparation for the next stage.
