Engineer - Play Style Overview
Engineer is the defense oriented character / class that has specific tools to help him defeat enemies while guarding an area. Able to place dual-turrets, mines or implement a bubble shield, playing as the Engineer requires strategic timing and usage of his abilities.

| Bouncing Grenades | Charge up to 8 grenades that deal 100% damage each. |
| Pressure Mines | Place a mine that deals 300% damage when an enemy walks nearby. Can place up to 10. |
| Bubble Shield | Place an impenetrable shield that blocks all incoming damage. |
| TR12 Gauss Auto-Turret | Place a turret that inherits all of your items. Fires a cannon for 100% damage. Can place up to 2. |
How To Unlock Engineer
Complete Total of 30 Stages
Engineer will be unlocked when you've completed 30 stages in Risk of Rain 2. This amount is added cumulatively, meaning you don't have to complete 30 stages in one single playthrough.

| Soldier's Syringe | The Soldier's Syringe increases the speed of the Engineer's launching of grenades, allowing him to throw out more in shorter amount of time. |
| Backup Magazine | The Backup Magazine will increase the amount of mines the Engineer can drop. This is useful in taking care of enemies clumped together near you. |
| Bustling Fungus | The Bustling Fungus creates a healing circle and is best to stack especially when the Engineer lays down turrets. This will create healing circles that will auto-heal the turrets & make them last longer. |
| Ukulele | The Ukulele is a great supplement to Engineer's moves as it gives chance to create chain-lightning damage to your enemies. |
| Chronobauble | Since Engineer's grenades need lead time when hitting targets, the Chronobauble can be an effective item in slowing enemies down. This will help you hit them more accurately. |
This recommendation is based off Common (White) and Rare (Green) items for ease of finding within the game.
Recommended Equipment
The Back-up calls in 4 Strike Drones to add more firepower to Engineer's attacks. The Strike Drones provide good cover fire to deal with mobs while the Engineer can focus fire on the Teleporter bosses or enemies with bigger HP.
