Ultron is Arrving on May 30

NetEase finally pulled the trigger on what might be Marvel Rivals' most anticipated character announcement yet. Ultron is officially joining the roster on May 25th. The reveal trailer dropped earlier this week and honestly, it couldn't have come at a better time. Anyone who's been grinding ranked matches lately knows the meta has gotten pretty stale. We're seeing the same dive compositions over and over, with mobile damage dealers rushing backlines while defensive players struggle to find effective counters. Ultron's kit looks like it might actually address some of these issues. He's a flying healer with a more than decent damage output that may actually prove to be a real counter to flankers.

Breaking Down Ultron's Ability Kit

The gameplay footage gives us a pretty good look at what Ultron brings to the table, even though NetEase is still holding back some specifics. His primary fire shoots concentrated energy beams that look more precise than Iron Man's repulsors but with similar range capabilities. He has an AoE (Area of Effect) ultimate ability which means he can limit enemy movement by zoning chokepoints and alleyways. In short, Ultron plays like Iron Man, but with the added bonus of healing abilities, which in my opinion makes him a better hero and a more versatile character.

Season 0 Battle Pass Returns for a Limited Time

To mark the one year anniversary of Marvel Rivals Closed Alpha, NetEase Games is bringing back the Season 0 Battle Pass for a limited time and launching the Galacta's Gift event, offering you a chance to earn and revisit early content.

Costume Coins are Back in Galacta's Gift Event

Galacta's Event starts from May 15, 2025 and you can earn various in-game items by simply playing Quick Match, Competitive or Practice vs. AI. Participants can unlock Nameplates, Sprays, Chrono Shield Cards, and Costume Coins which you can exchange to redeem debut skins for any of the 33 heroes featured in Marvel Rivals' Season 0.

Twitch Drops for Season 2 is Live

Marvel Rivals has kicked off a new Twitch Drop campaign for Season 2, running from May 16 to May 29, 2025. To score the exclusive Chronovium Spray, just watch your favorite Marvel Rivals partner streamers for 30 minutes.

New Adam Warlock and Scarlet Witch Skin

Two mystical makeovers will arrive on May 22, and they're some of the more regal looking skins to ever set foot in Marvel Rivals.

If you've been wanting for a reason to revisit your costume collection for Adam Warlock or Scarlet Witch, this might be it. Adam Warlock's new look, Immortal Avatar, wraps him in flowing gold and earth tone robes that make him look like a mystic space prophet while Scarlet Witch's new skin is a regal twist on her usual chaotic side. The Immortal Sovereign gives her an elegant crimson cloak with gold trims that leans hard into royalty. Both skins will be available in Marvel Rivals Store on May 22 at 7:00 PM (PDT).

Samurai Punisher Skin and X-Men Namor

The coolest samurai skin has arrived in Marvel Rivals. The Punisher's newest skin Dangan Ronin, infuses the Punisher with a samurai-inspired aesthetic. Meanwhile, Namor receives a Retro X-Uniform skin which draws inspiration from the classic X-Men designs. Both skins will be available on May 15, 2025 at 10 AM (PST).

Hit the Summer Vibes with New Rocket Raccoon and Squirrel Girl Skins

Summer’s in full swing, and Rocket Raccoon and Squirrel Girl are bringing the heat with their latest Marvel Rivals skins. The Sunshine Rocket and Sunshine Squirrel outfits radiate summer vibes, featuring bright colors, breezy designs, and plenty of style.

Both skins will be available for purchase in the Marvel Rivals store starting May 8, 2025, at 6 PM (PST), so get ready to suit up in sunshine!

Marvel Rivals Announces 3 Million USD Ignite Tournament

NetEase Games just recently announced the Marvel Rivals Ignite, a global esports tournament with a staggering 3 million (USD) prize pool, including 1 million (USD) for the championship matches. The competition spans multiple regions including the Americas, EMEA, China, Asia, and Oceania. Details on the format and schedules will be revealed soon.

New Black Panther and Winter Soldier Thunderbolts MCU Skin

Black Pantherdons the Damisa-Sarki skin, part of the Hellfire Gala-themed collection which adds a majestic flair to the Wakandan King while Winter Soldier will be receiving a new Thunderbolts skin, inspired by the MCU film of the same name. Players can purchase these skins individually or as a combo bundle currently on sale, priced at 2800 Units.

New Peni Parker and Doctor Strange Skins

Two heroes just got dramatic new skins: Peni Parker's Yatsukahagi, steeped in Japanese folklore and Doctor Strange's Multiverse of Madness straight from the MCU. Peni Parker's new skin isn't your usual SP//dr. It's inspired by the mythological creature, Tsuchigumo, an earth spider spirit from Japanese legends. Meanwhile, Doctor Strange's skin gives us a zombified version of Strange, bones and all.
