Marvel Rivals HomeWhat Is the Hellfire Gala?
The Hellfire Gala kicks off Season 2 of Marvel Rivals, unveiling an exciting new map—Krakoa, the mutant homeland and central stage for this season’s conflict against Ultron. As the catalyst for the season, the Hellfire Gala introduces Emma Frost as a powerful Vanguard hero, alongside an array of fresh updates, stunning skins, and the much-anticipated arrival of Ultron to the game’s roster.
New Heroes - Emma Frost and Ultron
Known as "The White Queen," Emma Frost is a Vanguard character with dual forms - Human and Diamond form. She's a ranged Vanguard with shielding in her Human Form while her Diamond form makes her a beefier tank with melee abilities. It's interesting to see how Emma Frost will influence the current meta and how she fares against formidable Vanguards such as The Thing, Doctor Strange, Magneto and Hulk.

As for Ultron, the Stark-manufactured villain is yet to be formally announced but recent leaks and news have already shown us his abilities and his role as a Strategist. We'll update you in the future as more official information surfaces about the nature of this hero.
Latest News and EventsNew Map - Krakoa
Inspired by the X-Men comics, the Hellfire Gala takes place on the mutant island of Krakoa. To give you a bit of context, Krakoa is an island that has become sentient due to nuclear experiments and is currently the haven of mutants, particularly the X-Men. There are a lot of easter eggs to be found inside the new map trailer, including a statue of a younger Professor X wearing Cerebro.
Best Heroes to Play in Season 2
Alongside the newest hero and map reveals for Emma Frost and Krakoa, Marvel Rivals has also announced new hero balancing changes and new team-ups that will shake the current meta and influence how Season 2 plays out. According to Marvel Rivals Dev Vision 2 Vol. 5, the biggest hero balancing change that we've seen is focused on Scarlet Witch and Namor as their new team-up abilities have unlocked new potential for team lineups.
Marvel Rivals Tier ListScarlet Witch

If you're thinking that Storm's buffs are so OP that it casted her to S-tier during last season, then you'll be in for one heck of a ride with perhaps the biggest buff ever seen in Marvel Rivals history. While on paper, Scarlet Witch appears to be nerfed this season, her team-up ability with Doctor Strange makes up for a lot of her shortcomings. Starting April 11, Scarlet Witch will have boosted damage enough to make her a tank-buster and an infinite range, thanks to the introduction of her team-up ability with Doctor Strange.
What Is a Team-Up?Namor

Namor's rise through the ranks has been fueled by recent buffs and his impactful team-up ability with Luna Snow (as we've seen in the recent tournament). However, his newest team-up ability with the Hulk introduces a more diverse way in how he's played, with Gamma-Charge, Namor can now summon an extra gamma-charged squid that deals continuous beam damage. This update makes Namor an even more formidable force, and it's going to be fascinating to see how divers will adapt to maneuver around his heightened defenses and avoid what seems to be the ultimate healer protection.
