FlyQuest Challenges 100Thieves

Flyquest looked to be the perfect opponent to 100Thieves as the match became an exciting chess match of picks and counter picks. The series boiled down to whoever has the first pick. 100Thieves played very traditional and rightfully so, as they've got the best players in each player's role. In hindsight, Flyquest had success whenever they separated the tanks from the DPS due to a 3-1-2 lineup with a rotation of offensive healers, Mantis, Adam Warlock, and Luna Snow.

Looking forward, the only thing that Flyquest needs to look at postgame is their weakness in convoy matches. This is because they're mainly deploying a 3-1-2 lineup with a Namor ban, which pretty much hurt them all throughout the best-of-seven series that led to Flyquest struggling to maintain cohesiveness against 100Thieves' divers.

Match Turning Point

Match 5 is the turning point of the series as both teams became tied 2-2. This is where 100Thieves pressed their foot down the pedal with a 46-2 and 42-4 showing from 100TTerra (Winter Soldier) and 100TTk (Doctor Strange). It's an absolute beatdown in a map that Flyquest struggled all throughout.

Team Differences

100Thieves just looked like the better team with great team coordination and team play. Their strengths rely heavily on their DPS players to either push or pressure opponents into losing. If 100Tdelanaa is getting picked off early, 100TTerra has always been there to pick up the slack. That said, 100TTerra is no backup. He's an elite player in a tier of his own and this showed in match #5 where he shutdown Flyquest with a 46-4 KD ratio.

On the other hand, Flyquest is a team that employs versatility and banked on unique strategies, lineups, and unpredictability. At one point they even deployed Jeff in the field. Something that in a hundred years, would I never expect to see in a Grand Finals tournament. Flyquest is a solid team to watch out for and this seems like the start of a great rivalry.

Overall, 100Thieves is the more "aware" team in terms of positioning. They knew how to respond against matchups and they're just better at determining angles and where entire clashes will happen. It's no doubt that 100Thieves is a powerhouse in this tournament and it's exciting to see if that will continue for seasons to come.

100Thieves Takes 1-0 Lead

The first match took place in Hell's Heaven - Domination with both teams featuring the same lineup of Invisible Woman, Luna Snow, Wolverine, Namor, The Thing, and Doctor Strange with 100Thieves besting SEN to take the round. In round 2, 100TTerra pushed on the pedal and was clearly the better Wolverine throughout the round which gave them the win without SEN being able to capture the objective. 100Thieves takes 1-0 lead.

SEN Strikes Back 1-1

Map 2 took place in Midtown - Convoy, starting with an intriguing pick of a Hela/Luna Snow ban but without any Wolverine ban. This time SENGomez's Wolverine strikes back, making easy pickings at chokepoints and eventually holding the entire 100Thieves without landing on the first checkpoint. In Round 2, SEN’s Rocket Raccoon and Winter Soldier turned the tide. Despite 100Thieves’ in-game adjustments, including a Psylocke pick to counter the deadly duo, the team ultimately fell short. SEN delivered a standout performance to even the series at 1-1.

100Thieves Defeats SEN, Secures Group Placement

The third map is a do-or-die for both teams, which took place in Hall of Djalia - Convergence. 100Thieves fielded a standard 2-2-2 lineup with a Rocket Raccoon and Winter Soldier pairing alongside Star-Lord as their main diver. On the other hand, SEN fielded their best lineup which includes SENKarova's Adam Warlock, who's one of the best Adam Warlock players in the game alongside Mantis and Star-Lord. 100Thieves eventually won the seemingly tug-of-war battle as they held SEN to 95.63 meters.

In round 2, 100Thieves breezed through the map by easily taking the objective with a combination of 100TTTk's stellar Magneto play and 100TTerra's aggressive Winter Soldier. 100Thieves defeats SEN 2-1.

FLY Takes 1-0 Lead

The next match pits FLY against Shroud-X. Yes, that's right. It's a team owned by popular streamer and former CSGO pro player, Shroud. The first match took place in Midtown - Convoy where both teams fielded almost similar matchups but has FLY (defense) winning the copycat contest in a hard fought batttle. FLY takes the lead 1-0.

FLY Defeats Shroud-X

Map 2 took place in Symbiotic Surface Convergence with Shroud-X (defense) opening on what seemingly is a good defense to start the match but ultimately faltered and allowed FLY to reach the final checkpoint. At this point, all FLY has to do is defend on round 2 and they did so magnificently. Led by FLY Ghaskin's Magneto and FLYCooper's Loki, Shroud-X never stood a chance of a comeback. FLY defeats Shroud-X in Marvel Rivals tournament Day 3.

Envy Takes 1-0 Lead

Day 3 of the Marvel Rivals NA tournament is underway, and the excitement is building with a heated matchup between Envy and tournament veterans NTMR. The first map, Spider-Islands: Convoy, saw Envy employing a 2-2-2 standard lineup against NTMR’s 3-1-2 lineup featuring three Duelists. Team Envy showcased pure dominance against the returning vets, delivering a dominant performance thanks to iRemixx's exceptional plays as The Thing.

Envy Defeats NTMR

Map 2, took place in Yggrassil Path - Convoy, where both teams started with a more standard 2-2-2 in a head-to-head matchup. NTMR looked much prepared in this map and held Envy to the final checkpoint. Round 2 went with almost the same lineups but the difference seems to be from NTMR's combination of Rocket Raccoon and Winter Soldier who continued to decimate Envy's backlines whenever he launches his ultimate. Envy held NTMR nearing overtime in the first checkpoint, however, Envycal's Adam Warlock made a costly mistake by using an ultimate in an exposed position but the team was able to recover and held NTMR before the second checkpoint. Envy defeats NTMR in the Marvel Rivals NA Tournament.

RADEsports Takes 1-0 Lead

Map 1 took place in Midtown - Convoy, intriguingly enough, without a Hela ban. The match started as a showdown between 2 opposing Winter Soldiers who made timely, and flashy uses of their ultimate abilities to wipe out entire teams singlehandedly in different points of the game however, RADEsport's offense managed to take the payload into the final checkpoint to win round 1. In round 2 RADkani (defense) showcased a Doctor Strange clinic by holding the point using masterful releases of the maelstrom of darkness. RADEsports held Shikigami without any checkpoint reached to take a 1-0 lead.

RADEsports Defeats Shikigami

Map 2 took place in Shin Shibuya - Convergence, where a head-to-head matchup between Hela/Winter Soldier for both teams heated up, however, RADEsports is just too much for Shikigami to handle who seemingly had the advantage on Hela and Doctor Strange. RADEsports wins round 1. In round 2, Shikigami put on a much better fight, and a lot of switches and matchups using Hela, Winter Soldier, and Namor took place but RADEsports is just the better team all around. RADEsports held Shikigami near the final checkpoint in overtime to win 2-0 in a best-of-three match.
