The competitive landscape in Marvel Rivals is a bit tough, so avoiding demotions is crucial to maintaining your rank. That's where the Chrono Shield swoops in. The Chrono Shield is a game mechanic in Marvel Rivals that prevents players from being demoted to a lower rank after a loss. When you are on the brink of dropping to a lower division or rank, the Chrono Shield activates to preserve your current rank.
How to Use a Chrono Shield?
To use Chrono Shield, a player must first unlock competitive mode by reaching level 10. The system is fairly straightforward, when a player is on the brink of rank demotion, the Chrono Shield will activate automatically and prevent that rank demotion.
How to Recharge the Chrono Shield?
Once a Chrono Shield is activated, it will enter a recharge phase and will become available again after a certain number of losses. So if you're standing at Bronze II with 0 points and you've already used the Chrono Shield, you have to win the next match and regain some ranked points or else you will be demoted back to Bronze III.
