Zoning Specialist

Human Torch's Zoning abilities can frustrate and harass enemy Strategists by creating a separation between them and the Vanguards. His Blazing Blast coupled with Pyro Prison is also a chokepoint nightmare that can be used to single out enemies and can help ally divers for quick eliminations.

Best Hero Companions

Storm

Marvel Rivals Storm

Storm is the best companion hero to pair with Human Torch because their Team-Up ability, Omega Fire is not only visually stunning, but can wreck and disrupt entire team formations.

Invisible Woman

Marvel Rivals Invisible Woman

Invisible Woman's team up ability with Human Torch grants him shielding which is useful since he's a squishy character.

How to Play Human Torch

Use Animation Cancel Combo

One of the best combos to do with Human Torch is a series of Animation Cancels. To do this, use his primary, Fire Cluster (Left Click) and as soon as it comes out, cancel the animation with Blazing Blast (Right Click), and once again, cancel the animation with Flaming Meteor (F) to land on top of the enemy and detonate the flaming field. This combo can take out enemy Squishies in an instant.

Fly Above Head Level

Where Human Torch shines is close-ranged combat. Human Torch's primary weapon works like a shotgun and its damage is higher the closer Human Torch is to an enemy. His primary also has head shot, and can take out almost a third of a squishy hero's health in one shot.

Separate Frontlines and Backlines

As Human Torch, your primary role is to create a clear separation between enemy frontlines and backlines. By creating a gap between the frontlines and backlines, you're essentially alienating the Vanguards from their healers which leaves them vulnerable for quick eliminations.

Use Ultimate on Chokepoints

Human Torch's ultimate ability is a chokepoint nightmare especially on payload maps where he's on defense. Make sure that you have your ultimate ability ready during the final seconds of the match to prevent the opposing team from pushing.

Human Torch Hero Lore

Johnny Storm

Teenager Johnny Storm joined his sister on the crew of an experimental space mission in hopes of visiting the stars. Instead, he became one, gaining power and popularity as a member of the world famous Fantastic Four. Able to generate scorching flames, Johnny is the hottest hero in town - the Human Torch.

Since darkness fell on New York City, Johnny has been busy burning Dracula's legions with flames brighter that the sun.

Hero Story

Fire Exemption Test
Johnny Storm saw a vampire sulking along the edge of Bryant Park, and did what he always did on such an occasion: Lit it up like a Roman candle. Then he saw another one, trying to get away around the corner onto Fifth Avenue. Boom, that one was gone too. He did this every night - or every day, it was hard to tell what time it was in Dracula’s New York, because the sun never came up and the moon always hung low and red seemingly right over Grand Central. Either way, the Human Torch kept the area near Baxter Building as free of vampires as he could. That meant a lot of vampires had gone up in smoke because of him, and that in turn meant that Johnny Storm was currently Number One on Dracula’s hit list. The vampire-in-chief had sent some of his top lieutenants after Johnny, veterans of the Cult of the Darkholders, but either Johnny had lit them up too, or he’d gotten away before they could get a bite on him.
