How to Play Clash of Dancing Lions

Clash of Dancing Lions is the newest game mode to arrive in Marvel Rivals. If you're familiar with Lucioball from Overwatch, the gameplay is pretty much the same - players must carry or shoot the ball inside the goal.

In Clash of Dancing Lions, the goal is divided into three sections: the middle section is worth 3 points, while the left and right sides are worth 1 point each. The first to reach 10 points wins, or the team with the highest score after four minutes.

To start playing Clash of Dancing Lions, press Play from the home screen, select Change mode and choose Clash of Dancing Lions from the game mode selection screen.

How to Earn Danqing

Participating in Clash of Dancing Lions during the Spring Festival event allows players to earn Danqing, an event exclusive currency. Danqing is used to complete sections of the painting, granting rewards in the Fortune and Colors event page. You can also earn Danqing by completing daily Challenges and Missions.

Featured Heroes and Abilities

Players can select from three heroes, each equipped with custom base abilities tailored only for this event. There are no ultimate abilities in this game mode, and you cannot KO opponents.

Black Widow

Left Click	Launch the ball forward with incredible speed.
Right Click	Charged shot that increases the ball's speed and travel distance.
Shift	Dash forward.
E	Unleash a spinning kick to launch up enemies and cause them to lose the ball.
Star-Lord
Controls	Function
Left Click	Launch the ball forward with incredible speed.
E	Hold E and release to perform a charged shot that increases the ball's speed and travel distance.
Shift	Consume energy to gain a movement boost, soar forward or fly. You can use this ability with the ball in your hands.
E	Fire bullets in all directions that launches nearby enemy upwards and cause them to lose the ball. You can only use this ability when you are not in possession of the ball.
Right Click	Dodge in the direction of the movement. Become Unstoppable and Invincible while dodging. Use this ability to counter enemy steal actions.
Ironfist
Controls	Function
E	Launch the ball forward with incredible speed.
Left Click	Charged shot that increases the ball's speed and travel distance.
Shift	Sprint forward and hit the enemy to cause them to lose the ball and be launched upwards.
Space	Perform up to three consecutive jumps.

Best Strategies to Win

Clash of Dancing Lions blends a little bit of American Football and Soccer as the newest game mode - think of Rocket League but with Marvel superheroes. In a first to 10 scoring inside 4-minute matches, it's important to score in every way possible. Here are the best ways to win Clash of Dancing Lions.

Aim for the Sides

While the middle section is worth 3 points, it’s the most heavily guarded and easiest to defend. If you have the opportunity to score, don’t hesitate to aim for the sides. Scoring in every way matters, especially in a very short 4-minute match.

Advance or Pass After Every Steal

If you manage to steal the ball, always make it a point to pass or advance the ball in your court. This allows your team to counterattack and keep the enemy struggling to get back on defense. Remember that it's always easier to land a steal when a player keeps the ball in their hands for too long, so focus on passing or advancing the ball.

Don't Be a Ballhog

Many players lose at Clash of Dancing Lions by adopting a hero-ball mindset and diving alone toward the goal in hopes of scoring. Most of the time, the opposing team clumps around the ball handler, leading to a steal and a score for them. If you see an entire enemy group racing toward you, pass the ball to a nearby teammate or advance it in your court. The worst scenario for a ball handler is getting the ball stolen, as this allows the enemy to counterattack immediately.

Use Dash to Chase

If an enemy ballhandler is racing towards the goal, use your Shift ability to chase the opponent and steal the ball for a counterattack.
