Annihilation is for Originium. If you're doing Annihilation for exp then you're doing it wrong.

Annihilation returns 10x sanity spent as EXP compared to supply and story missions, which return 12x sanity spent, so if you are trying to level up fast, avoid annihilation

By completing any mission with 3 stars you will get 12 times EXP of sanity used. It can be supply or story or annihilation or even event missions. Supply missions are relatevely quick, so you can use them.
