Map Selection
Decide Based on Your Weapon

Close-range Weapons | Farm / Port |
Long-range Weapons | Valley / Northridge |
When raiding as an Impostor, it's recommended to choose the map based on the equipment you have. If you are equipped with close-range weapons such as submachine guns or shotguns, you should deploy to the Farm.
Also Check for Scopes
Even with long-range weapons, if there's no scope, the recommended maps are Farm or Port. Weapons without scopes make long-range attacks difficult, so check your weapon attachments before deploying.

Initial Raid Strategy
Prepare Your Equipment

Impostors cannot choose their equipment, making them more vulnerable than Contractors. If you encounter enemies with your initial gear, you'll be at a disadvantage. First, go around some supply spots and prepare for battle.
List of Ways to Obtain Equipment

Obtain from Supply Spots
Supply Spots Where Equipment Can Be Obtained | |
Airdrop Tank | Weapon Case |
Munitions Container | Storage Case |
Found Directly Placed

There are locations on the map where equipment is directly placed. If you spawn nearby, go check if there's any equipment.
Farm | |
Villa 2nd Floor | Near the north entrance of the Motel |
Valley | |
Forward Operating Base | Supply Camp |
Crash Site Ravine | |
Northridge | |
Gun Store | Observation Deck 2nd Floor |
Communications Station Tent |
Loot from Defeated Enemies

It's also recommended to loot weapons and armor from defeated enemies. Since Impostors spawn after a certain amount of map time has passed, defeated enemies are often left around landmarks. Prepare your equipment and get ready for encounters.
Loot from Players Defeated Near Hot Zones

Although it involves risk, looking for defeated players near hot zones is also an option. Depending on the situation, they might have a full set of equipment remaining. When exploring hot zones, move cautiously and silence your footsteps.
Actions Towards Enemy NPCs
Non-Hostile Unless Attacked

Enemy NPCs will not become hostile unless you attack them first. Attacking them recklessly has major drawbacks, such as revealing your location with gunshots or losing health to counterattacks. Avoid fighting NPCs as much as possible, unless you desperately need equipment or healing items.

Securing Healing Items
Few Healing Options at Deployment

When deploying as an Impostor, you often don't have healing items. You might get injured and be unable to treat yourself, leading to being downed. If possible, you should check supply spots where healing items appear.
Obtain from First Aid Kits

The safest way to obtain healing items is to search first aid kits. Open the map, and you can display the locations of first aid kits from the resource types in the bottom left.
Obtain by Defeating Enemy NPCs

If you've suffered trauma or damage and desperately need healing items, defeating enemy NPCs is one option. You'll become hostile to NPCs, but if you don't heal, you'll end up with a game over anyway. After defeating an enemy, search their pockets and rigs for healing items.
Once Your Equipment is Ready
Challenge Hot Zones

Once your equipment is ready, try entering a hot zone. Impostor mode is a raid with no initial investment, so you can challenge hot zones with minimal risk. It's especially recommended if you want to practice combat. Defeat players who visit hot zones and bring back valuable equipment.
Bring Back the Equipment As Is

If you acquire equipment that is good enough to use in Contractor mode, aiming for an early extraction is also recommended. If you force yourself into combat, you might lose everything you've gathered. Once you've had a satisfactory exploration, return and utilize it in Contractor mode.
