| 1 | Lead your Horse while talking with John. |
| 2 | Hitch your Horse by the gunsmith, and buy a Rolling Block Rifle. |
| 3 | Mount your Horse, and follow John to a ridge Southeast of Valentine. Then unmount. |
| 4 | Using the Rifle, shoot some warning shots near the ranchers to scare them off. |
| 5 | Mount your Horse, and wrangle up the abandoned sheep. |
| 6 | Herd the sheep into the Auction Yard in Valentine. |
5~6. Wrangle All 15 Sheep
It would be best to attempt to wrangle all the sheep during this mission to complete the mission challenge. Keep an eye out for stray sheep using your minimap to be able to account for all 15 of them.
5~6. Try Not To Trample Any Sheep
As you are herding the sheep into the auction yard, it would be best to keep an eye out for any sheep lagging behind. Try to match their speed to avoid trampling them, and herd all 15 sheep into the auction yard.

| 3 | Go outside the Saloon to see what is causing all the ruckus. |
| 4 | Slowly draw your gun and engage Dead Eye to shoot John & Strauss' captors. |
| 5 | Engage in a shootout against Cornwall's men. |
| 6 | Fight your way to the Stables in Valentine. |
| 7 | Grab Strauss and load him onto one of the Horses. |
| 8 | Escape from Valentine and the law. |
4~6. Utilize Dead Eye & Cover
As there will be a lot of enemies in the area, it would be good to keep yourself in cover to avoid taking much damage during the shootout. Dead Eye will also help you take out lots of enemies at once.

Using the Wagon as cover, move alongside it to keep yourself safe from gunfire as you make your way towards the stables in at the end of the main road in Valentine.
6~7. Make Sure That Strauss Is Safe
Letting Leopold Strauss die during this sequence will cause you to fail the mission. Keep an eye on him at all times, and make sure to get him as soon as you reach the stables.
