Unicorn Overlord Quest Guide

This is a guide for the Unicorn Overlord main quest. It summarizes the characters that join, strategy points, stage items, and obtainable rewards. Please use this as a reference for your Unicorn Overlord quest walkthrough.

Gilbert's Joining Conditions

Gilbert joins during the progression of "Unicorn Overlord". If Aramis is in your army and you start "Heir to the Dragonlands" from Chooser Fortress, select "Understood," and clear it, he will have already joined.

Hermann's Joining Conditions

Hermann joins during the progression of "Unicorn Overlord" after clearing "Heir to the Dragonlands".

Nigel's Joining Conditions

Nigel joins during the progression of "Unicorn Overlord" after clearing "The Holy March".

Strategy Points for Unicorn Overlord

Select the Stage Starting Position

In Unicorn Overlord, you can choose the quest starting position from 5 locations. The difficulty doesn't change much regardless of where you start, but Portol Fortress (the starting point in the upper right of the map) is recommended as it involves less wasted movement. Since the quest starting points need to be liberated on the field, clear the liberation battles.

Liberate the Starting Positions Beforehand

If you have cleared "Plumepafum Town Liberation Battle" and "Soilecalme Village Liberation Battle" before starting the quest, enemies stationed at those bases will no longer appear. Also, liberating the latter will place the Battering Ram mentioned later, so be sure to check it.

Capture the 4 Strongholds

First, capture the 4 strongholds around the castle. Be careful, as unique changes will occur when your army approaches each stronghold.

Countermeasures for Belisarius's Unit

Belisarius's unit is positioned in the northeast. They will set Magic Mines when you approach their stronghold, so challenge them with a unit that has a flying leader or counter skills like Heavy Swing.

Tips
	Petro, Helen, and Paulo near Belisarius's unit have conversation marks. If you talk to these three units with Dinah, they will become allied forces, so don't forget to use this.

Countermeasures for Holonius's Unit

Holonius's unit is positioned near the center of the map. When your army approaches, enemy units other than those at the stronghold will disappear, so head straight for the stronghold. The surroundings are engulfed in flames, and touching them will cause damage, so use counter skills like "Prayer Statue: Rain" in the south of the map or Mercy Rain to maneuver safely.

Countermeasures for Theodora's Unit

Theodora's unit is positioned near the center of the map. Equipment like ballistae and barricades are set up around them. When you approach their stronghold, surrounding enemies will start to man them, so advance while dealing with them. For barricades, challenge them with a unit that has a flying leader or counter skills like Heavy Swing.

Countermeasures for Narses's Unit

Narses's unit is positioned in the northwest of the map. Initially, there are no enemy forces around their stronghold, but they will appear when your army approaches. If you charge in with a single unit, you'll be surrounded, so approach with multiple units or use a nearby shield to lure out the enemy.

Use the Battering Ram to Destroy the Gate

After capturing the 4 strongholds, you will be able to advance to the royal capital Gran Corrine in the center of the map. Battering Rams will appear in the northeast and northwest of the map, so board them, destroy the gate, and advance.

Clear "Soilecalme Village Liberation Battle" Beforehand

To make the Battering Ram appear, you need to clear "Soilecalme Village Liberation Battle" beforehand. Even if it's not liberated, it's possible to destroy it, but it will take a considerable amount of time, so unless there's a special reason, liberate it.

Use the Brave Skill "Purification"

After Galerius appears on the field, due to the "Netherworld Miasma," your units other than Alain's will be brainwashed and attack you. The brainwashed state can be removed by Alain's Brave Skill "Purification." It requires 1 Brave to use, so be careful not to run out.

Reorganize Units Before the Galerius Battle

Galerius uses a barrier that nullifies attacks up to 6 hits. Therefore, use skills with a high number of hits to quickly strip the barrier. Swordmaster is recommended, and to remove debuffs and finish him off, pair them with a Bishop or similar.

Be Mindful of Dealing Damage Quickly

Galerius recovers his HP in the time between the end of one battle and the start of the next. Therefore, if you can't defeat him, engage in battle again as quickly as possible. By gathering your units before engaging, you should be able to defeat him in one go.

Ending Branches Based on Play Status

The ending branches based on your play status when Galerius is defeated. There are Normal, Bad, and True endings, and if you have cleared "The Six Sages of the Sanctuary," choices will appear. For detailed branching conditions and event details, please refer to the article below.

Heal Before the Final Battle

Selecting certain choices will transition to the final battle. Damage to your units and other conditions will carry over from when Galerius was defeated, so heal if they are depleted. Minor enemies appearing around will be resummoned even if defeated, so use them to recharge Brave.

Equip the Unicorn/Maiden Rings and Challenge

Form a unit with Alain equipped with the Unicorn Ring and a character equipped with the Maiden Ring. The skills possessed by these two accessories can only be used in the final battle. If you don't use the Maiden Ring's skill "Celestial Light," your army will be wiped out, so don't forget to equip them.

Settle it with Astral Blade

The boss of the final battle can only be finished off with the Unicorn Ring's skill "Astral Blade." Overcoming this leads to the True Ending, so challenge the final battle in your best condition.
