Outside (Chapter 3: The Outskirts) Walkthrough Guide
Story Progression Chart

| 1 | Proceed until you reach the locked gate |
| 2 | Go around the fence to your left. Find a plank leaning against the wall. Place the plank against the hut |
| 3 | Climb up the hut. Get Melee Upgrade recipe. Use the plank to get inside of the fence |
| 4 | Enter the building in front of small hut without alerting 2 Clickers nearby. Check the room in the 2nd floor to get Pills Note on the floor. There is also 5 supplements in the shelf |
| 5 | Get out of that building. You can enter the building next door if you have shiv to open the locked door. There is 15 supplements and supplies inside |
| 6 | Once you finished looting, find the locked door by the fence (near by the shiv door). Boost Ellie up to unlock that door |
| 7 | Once you enter the town, turn right and walk along the street. You'll see a RV. Climb up the RV and get Firefly Pendant |
| 8 | Enter the record shop and check its back office. There is Perimeter Note on the shelf |
| 9 | Walk toward the end of the street and find Note to Bob stuck in the barricade. Once you have this note, you can open the safe (50 parts, 10 supplements, and rifle ammo) located near the door you boosted Ellie to enter the town earlier |
| 10 | After you've finished looting, enter the narrow alley next to the record shop. Clicker will activate tripwire and kill himself |
| 11 | There is a shiv door behind the record shop. You can get 15 supplements, 25 parts and many other supplies |
| 12 | Find the ladder nearby dead body with arrows. Use it to climb over. Get Bow |
| 13 | Use the plank to cross the gap. After crossing, grub the plank and place it next to the ladder. Use the ladder to climb up and pick up the plank to reuse it to cross another gap in the rooftop |
| 14 | Walk passed the Clicker and climb up to the building |
| 15 | Use the ladder to climb down to the ground. There is a tripwire right next to you so avoid activating it by crouching |
| 16 | You will hear the sound coming from the building. Enter that building. Defeat one Runner hiding in the house. Find Note to Rachel on the table. You can find 5 supplements in the bathroom |
| 17 | Get out of the house. Find an opened door with two tripwires. Activate tripwires by shooting them. There is another tripwire ahead as well |
| 18 | Enter the building and open the door. Joel will be hanged by Bill's trap. Shoot off all enemies until Ellie deactivate the trap |
| 19 | Once Ellie cut off the rope, follow Bill and escape |
3. Use Plank To Enter Inside
Grub the plank leaning against the wall and place it against the hut. Then, climb up the hut and retrieve plank and use it to cross over the gap. Don't forget to get melee upgrade placed on the hut.

Enter the building located in front of the hut with Clicker inside. Go to the second floor and check the floor to get Pills Note. Don't miss the 5 supplements placed in the hallway.
6. Boost Up Ellie To Enter The Town
In between 2 building (building with shiv door & building with Pills Note inside), there is a fence with a door. Boost Ellie up to enter the town.
7. Climb Up RV & Get Firefly Pendant
Once you enter the town, walk along the street and find a RV. Climb up the RV and get Firefly Pendant.
8. Get Perimeter Note At The Record Shop
Check the back office of the record shop. There is an artifact Perimeter Note placed on the shelf.
8. Get Note To Bob From Barricade
You will see a barricade as you walk along the street. Find a Note to Bob stuck in the barricade. This note has a lock combination to open the safe in Bill's Town. Go back to where you boosted Ellie to enter the town and find a safe nearby.

Details On Skill Upgrades Here12. Use The Ladder To Proceed
After you see the Clicker activating a tripwire, go to the back of the building and find a ladder nearby dead body with arrows stuck. Place it against the truck and climb over to the other side.
13. Use Plank To Cross Over To The Next Building
After crossing the plank, you will need to reuse that plank in the rooftop to crossover to next building.
16. Get Note To Rachel
Joel and Ellie will hear some noise coming out of the building. Enter that building, go up stairs and defeat Runner hiding inside. You can find Note to Rachel on the table.
17. Detonate Tripwires By Shooting Them
You can detonate tripwire traps by shooting them. If you want to save ammo, throwing bricks or bottle works as well.
18. Make Every Bullet Counts
While you are hanged, there will be horde of enemies coming at you and Ellie. Make sure you reload after each wave of enemies and aim carefully.
