How Do You Get Character Skills?
Use Supplements To Upgrade Skills
By consuming Supplement items found hidden in each level, you can unlock new skills for your character from the menu. These skills include increasing max HP, enhancing Listen Mode distance and more. Each skill can be upgraded multiple times to increase its effect.
All Skills Are Not Max-able In The Initial Run
There will not be enough Supplements found in the world to max out all your skills in the initial gameplay. If you wish to max all skills and an achievement, consider playing the game again in New Game Plus mode.

Recommended Skill To Upgrade First
Maximum Health
A solid skill choice to invest in, and possibly to max out first. Having higher HP pool allows you to have more space to work around even in a pinch. weapon. The Pistol Holster may also be considered viable, but are not as versatile considering compared to the effectiveness of long guns.
Listen Mode Distance
Knowing where your possible threats are will give you an edge in combat or outright evading the threat altogether. This skill is especially useful against the infested, namely the Clicker as it constantly will be making clicking noises.
Weapon Sway
As the name suggests, this skill reduces the weapon sway when aiming, allowing you to adjust your aim easier. This skill is useful if you are not confident in your aim, especially in long range.If you are familiar with handling guns and reticle placement, this choice can be swapped with Crafting Speed.
Shiv Master
The Clickers can be an powerful foe when you underestimate them. Not only will they be able to catch you off guard in ruins, its mutation allows it to easily overpower you when grabbed.
