Procedure
1
Head near the side of Mr. Geddes's house to initiate a cutscene and start this mission
2
Follow Abe through the ranch to find Duncan trying to control his horse - Jeremiah
3
Go near Jeremiah and follow the on-screen prompts to calm him down
4
Once Jeremiah is calm, mount and ride him until he tires himself out
5
Head back to the ranch when Jeremiah's stamina runs out
6
Lead Jeremiah into the corral Duncan is in, so Duncan can start riding Jeremiah
7
Watch Duncan ride Jeremiah until his mother comes out to get you
3. Follow On-Screen Button Prompts To Calm Jeremiah
To calm and control Jeremiah, you need to follow the on-screen button prompts. John will talk to him gently and encourage him until he calms down.
4. Empty Out Stamina Bar To Tire Jeremiah
To tire Jeremiah out, you need to run his stamina bar dry. You can do this by running in the fields around the ranch & repeatedly pressing the gallop button.
Birth The Foal

1
Follow Mrs. Geddes to where the mare is giving birth

After the cutscene, you need to locate the legs of the foal and pull it out
3
Follow the on-screen prompts to locate its legs
4
Once you've found the legs, follow the button prompts to grip them
5
Then follow the on-screen prompt again to pull out the foal
6
After the cutscene, head to your house to talk to Abigail
Follow Button Prompts To Help Mare Give Birth
Helping the mare give birth isn't that complicated. Just follow the on-screen button prompts and you'll successfully birth the foal.
Teach Jack To Ride

Procedure
1
After the cutscene with Abigail, you'll regain control outside of the house
2
Head to the left of the house and mount your horse to go riding with Jack
3
Follow Jack while you are both riding your horse
4
Instruct him and help him control his horse's speed using on-screen button prompts
5
Once you've reached the stream, you'll get prompted to race Jack back to the ranch
6
Ride the horse back to the farm to initiate the cutscene
7
After the cutscene, the mission "Old Habits" will automatically start.
4. Don't Let Jack Go Too Fast
Don't tell Jack to "go faster" more than 3 times as this may lead his horse to buck him off and hurt him.
6. Win The Race To Complete Mission Challenge
You can easily complete the mission challenge by beating Jack when you race him back to Pronghorn Ranch. Push your "gallop" button repeatedly to gain speed and overtake him.
