Guns For Hire Give Perk Points At 15 Kills
If your assigned Gun For Hire reaches 15 kills on the field, they'll complete an in-game Challenge which rewards you with 3 perk points. You can get up to 24 perk points by simply using all your available Guns For Hire.

The best way to complete the 15 kill Challenge is to have your follower target a single enemy in the fight. Hopefully they'll take the enemy out and this will add to their kill count.

Kills With Weapons Can Complete Challenges
Go through your entire weapon inventory and rack up your kills with every kind of weapon you can get your hands on. Kills with every kind of weapon count towards an in-game challenge and will reward you with perk points when completed.
