What Are Expeditions?
Trips To New Areas In Far Cry New Dawn
Expeditions are a completely optional activity in Far Cry New Dawn, where you visit an entirely new area outside of Hope County, including areas such as desolate theme parks and infamous Alcatraz Prison. Here you are tasked to retrieve a package of rare loot, and escape the area via Helicopter.
Expeditions Have Difficulty Levels
You will have the option to choose a difficulty level for your expeditions. Expeditions with a higher difficulty will feature additional toughened enemies, but rarer and better loot.
You Can Go On Expeditions With A Friend
Two heads are better than one! You can opt to go on expeditions with a friend. It would be beneficial to have another player watch your back as the both of you infiltrate these new areas.

The rewards that you get from going on expeditions will be used to upgrade both your weapons, or your home base: Prosperity. Since Expeditions are replayable, you will be able to gather lots of loot for upgrades later on.

Upgrading your weapons with the loot you get from Expeditions will be able to unlock better versions of said weapon. These upgraded versions pack more of a punch, and can help you fight against tougher enemies!
What Happens In Expeditions?
In Expedition missions, your goal is to infiltrate, locate and extract after fulfilling your mission. You will have the element of surprise in your favor upon entering the enemy territory, use this to your advantage when searching for your target!
Step 1: Infiltrate The Area & Head To The Package
From the helicopter, you will need to make your way to the location of the package in the area. A plume of pink smoke will mark the general area of where the package is located.
Step 2: Steal The Package & Head To The Extraction Point
As soon as you steal the package, enemies will be alerted to your position, and will start attacking. You will then need to fight your way out of the area, and head to the extraction point where the chopper will pick you up.
Step 3: Hold Your Ground As You Wait For The Chopper
When you arrive at the extraction point, the chopper will not be there. Instead, you will need to defend the area until the helicopter arrives. Make sure that you still have lots of ammo as many enemies may flock to your position.
Step 4: Get In The Chopper & Exit The Area
After the helicopter arrives, get inside to make it leave the area. You will be given a few moments to continue shooting at enemies to earn more bonuses from the expedition.
Tips For Going On An Expedition
Bring A Variety Of Weapons
Having a diverse set of weapons in your loadout will help you adapt to any situation. With a variety of weapons, you can choose how to approach stealing the package.

Stealthily or guns blazing, enemies will always be alerted as soon as you steal the package. Make sure to bring a weapon that can dish out tons of damage to help you get to the extraction point.
Stock Up On Ammo For The Fight
It pays to be ready, make sure to have an abundance of ammo for your expedition. It may take awhile for the helicopter to arrive so it is best to have a lot of ammunition to avoid running out while standing your ground.
Bring Along Guns For Hire To Assist You
It is recommended to bring along Guns For Hire during Expeditions as they will assist you while you steal the package. Specialists like Nana can help pick off enemies for you while other specialists like Hurk can deal tons of damage to enemies!
