Best Temtem By Type
Best Neutral Temtem
There is a current shortage of Neutral types, so there are not many candidates to choose from. Valash is the best here due to its 90 Speed & 74 Attack, coupled with 120/130 power Stab moves. Skunch is also excellent, especially due to its (currently rare) Melee typing.
Best Water Temtem
There are many Water types to choose from, but Ukama & Oceara excel in terms of Speed & offensive stats. Wiplump is also good, but suffers from a 4x Electric weakness.
Best Fire Temtem
Anahir wins in terms of overall stats and tankiness. Offensively, Raican is probably the best of the 4 because of its Trait that allows it to sweep with impunity. The remaining 3 are also good, though Vulcrane's 4x Water weakness requires care.
Best Nature Temtem
Kinu's excellent double typing gives it an edge on most other Nature types. It also has self-healing options. Saku is an excellent choice in the early game due to its resistances, while Nidrasil is also good for its typing.
Best Electric Temtem
There are very few Electric types in the game right now. Due to the prevalence of Wind types, however, it is recommended to have at least one of these. The reason they're not S is because they both lack 100+ power Electric moves.
Best Mental Temtem

Myx | Barnshe | Tental |
B Tier | ||
Adoroboros |
Kinu once again comes out on top as a heavy hitter that can also sustain itself. Barnshe also has very powerful move options, & Myx can also be good, though it requires breeding to learn a good Mental move.
Best Earth Temtem
There are very few Earth Tems currently in the game. Due to the lack of Melee types, Mudrid's 4x Melee weakness isn't as big of a deal. In future updates, this could change, however.
Best Wind Temtem
One of the most common and strongest types in the game right now. Its lack of weaknesses makes it quite strong defensively. Volarend's Trait which gives it Speed, however, is particularly devastating.
Best Crystal Temtem
All of the S tier are dual-types with good move pools and base stats. Tuvine is also very strong defensively, with powerful high-attack moves.
Best Digital Temtem
No Digital type Temtem are currently obtainable in-game. Keep up with updates to know when more are added!

There are relatively few Melee types in the game at the moment. Gyalis has excellent stats but requires breeding to learn a Melee move.
Best Toxic Temtem
Toxic types are quite useful in the early game due to the prevalence of Water & Nature types. Their weakness to wind can be troublesome, however. Volarend's dual type removes this Wind weakness, making it one of the best choices for your team.
Tier List Criteria
Mostly PvE Content
This Tier List is intended primarily for PvE content in the game. However, it's still possible to use many of these Tems competitively. Note that as the game is still in Early Access, there is a distinct lack of certain types of Tems (Digital, Electric, etc). This will undoubtedly have an influence on what Temtem are strong in the competitive meta now.
High Base Stats
One of the main criteria for selection in this list is the Base Stat Total of each Tem. However, this does not necessarily mean higher stat Tems will be higher Tier.
Good Move Availability
Move availability can make or break a Temtem's power. For example, while Nessla is excellent early game, its lack of high-damage moves puts it at a relative disadvantage.
