Difficulty | Description |
---|---|
Easy | - Can change to Normal difficulty. - Great for learning the basics of the game. |
Normal | - Can change to Easy difficulty if having a tough time. |
Hard | - Difficulty cannot be changed mid-game. |
Easy & Normal Difficulties Can Be Changed Mid-Game
You will be given the chance to change the difficulty when playing in either Easy or Normal mode. You will be able to do this in the Gameplay tab under the Options menu.
Hard Difficulty Cannot Be Changed
Unlike the Easy and Normal modes, you will not be able to change Hard difficulty into an easier mode mid-game. Only play Hard difficulty if you are confident enough in your skills!

A new difficulty level called "Survival" will be added into the game as free DLC in June. In this difficulty setting, Fast Travel, and Survival Vision will be disabled. HUD elements such as the map and waypoints will also be removed.

Recommended To Start the Game In Normal
It is recommended that you start the game in Normal difficulty as it is the standard at which the game is intended to be played.
Adjust Difficulty Accordingly
Since the game is set to Normal difficulty, you can change it to an easier difficulty if you are stuck in a certain part. You will be able to change this in the menu or in the Death screen.
