Recommended Skills To Unlock First

Field Repairs

The Field Repairs skill will allow you to use Scraps to repair Melee weapons. This is very helpful especially since you will have a lot of opportunities to fight with Melee and ammunition for guns is scarce.

Focused Shot

Skill TypeRanged Tier 1

Clicking on R3 while aiming a ranged weapon will allow you to slow down time for a more precise shot. This is great for getting headshots and knocking down hard to hit targets when you are in a tight spot.

Hawkeyed

Hawkeyed
Skill TypeSurvival Tier 1

This skill will help mark out plants on your minimap. Plants are very useful in the game since you can use them to make crossbow bolts, and even make potions that make you perform better!

Learn Melee, Ranged & Survival Skills & Abilities

In Days Gone, Deacon progresses via a skill tree system which unlocks various passive and active abilities to aid your survival in the Freaker-infested Pacific Northwest. There are three main skill categories you can learn skills from: Melee, Ranged & Survival.

Use Skill Points To Unlock New Skills

Each skill will require a corresponding amount of skill points to learn and unlock, so plan out your skill set based on your preferred play style.

How To Get Skill Points

Players will earn Skill Points through gaining XP and leveling up. Story missions, as well as certain actions such as killing enemies, reward players with XP.
