Things To Do Before Turning On Generator
Kill Nearby Freakers
Make sure to take out nearby Freakers in the area before activating the NERO checkpoint generator to minimize chances of being attacked. Be careful as well as some checkpoints are located near Hordes.
Destroy Loudspeakers
Destroy the loudspeakers in the area since activating the generator will turn on these speakers and attract nearby Freakers. Also, you will not be able to rest inside a NERO checkpoint if an alarm is on.
How To Power Up NERO Checkpoints
1. Find The Fuel Can
NERO checkpoints require generators to be powered on, however they lack fuel. Look for a nearby fuel can to fill it up.
2. Refuel The Generator
Once you find the fuel can, go to the generator and refuel it using the fuel can. Once full, press the button.
3. Find The NERO Fuse
Certain NERO Checkpoints require NERO Fuses to be reactivated. Look around the area for a black box, as these usually contain NERO fuses.
4. Attach Fuse To The Panel
After obtaining the fuse, attach it to the panel with the repair icon.
5. Press The Generator Button
Finally, press the button on the generator to open the door. Search the Mobile Medical Units for the NERO Injectors and other items inside.
What Are Injectors & NERO Checkpoints?
Injectors Give Perma-Boost In Health, Stamina, & Focus
When Deacon uses an Injector, he is able to permanently increase his Health, Stamina, and Focus. These are usually hidden in specific locations called NERO Checkpoints.
NERO Checkpoints House Precious Injectors
NERO Checkpoints can be found throughout the Days Gone map and they house valuable Injectors that permanently increase your stats. It usually requires powering up to activate the security system & open its doors.
Opening Checkpoints Can Attract Hordes
When you've powered up a NERO Checkpoint, expect to alert a Horde so be sure to be prepared before attempting to open the area up.
