Best Weapons
Godly Weapons
The most powerful weapon in the Cult of the Lamb are the Godly Weapons. You can only unlock this late game since it is at the top tier of the skill tree but these are significantly powerful compared to other weapons. What weapon you actually get in your crusades are random, but if you do get a chance to get one, they will be worth swapping with whatever you have at that point.
Weapon Enhancements
You can always rely on luck to get a Godly Weapon or a Tarot Card that increases your damage output, but most importantly you want to permanently increase your chances of getting a better weapon.
Weapon Mastery
After unlocking the Weapon Mastery, you will gain access to unlock weapon upgrades for each weapon type. These will permanently enhance your weapons. Out of the 6 choices, the Blunderbuss Mastery is the only one that increase overall range and damage, while others mostly only enhance heavy attacks.
Might of the Devout
Might of the Devout gives you a higher rank weapon from the start, and can be upgraded up to Might of the Devout VI (6). Since the weapon type you get depends on luck, this should be your top priority to unlock since you will at least get a guarantee to start off with a higher rank weapon.
Best Weapon Types
Sword
The sword is an overall powerful weapon, mainly because it is well balanced and easy to use. It doesn't have the highest DPS but you won't have to worry about encountering specific enemies that it's weak against.
Axe
The Axe is slower than the sword but gives you a wider range and better damage output. You can also throw it, which is especially useful against shielded enemies. The axe gives you both versatility and high damage.
Hammer
The Hammer is even slower than the Axe but gives an even stronger punch. The drawback is that it's really slow, making it difficult to break shields. In that case you'll have to dodge any incoming attacks and kind of wait until your heavy attack hits the enemy. Very powerful, but requires getting used to.
