How to Get Menticide Mushrooms
You can find and collect Menticide Mushrooms in Anura, behind the 2nd door you can open for crusading. This is also the stage where you fight Heket, you will be picking some up on the way to the boss.
Where to Get Mushrooms
You can find mushrooms lying on the ground in Anura. Attacking the mushrooms destroys them and drops the Menticide Mushroom.
Mushrooms and Mushroom Spores
When you're out gathering Menticide Mushrooms, there's a chance you'll pick up some spores too. You can plant these spores on your farm and grow even more Menticide Mushrooms.

Give Them to Sozo
Give Menticide Mushrooms to Sozo in Spore Grotto to receive rewards including Talisman fragments and a Decoration for your cult. He will also unlock the Brainwashing Ritual, which can help you stabilize your cult while on a long crusade.
Brainwashing Ritual
Brainwashing Ritual is a good ritual to use if you plan to go on long crusades to avoid penalties for dying. It does require Menticide Mushrooms to perform the ritual, but if you have mushroom spores, you can plant them on your farm for more.
