You Can Change Keybinds

Browse through the list of actions and select the one you want to change. Press the new key you want to assign to that action and confirm.

Use Reset Binding To Change Back Settings

Press B to revert any changes to the key bindings layout and return to the default settings. Please note that when you use V or Reset All, this will change back the controls to default including all settings made, so choose carefully when doing so.

Layout A Default Controls

Layout A is the most basic setting that goes with the PS default controls that uses X as the confirm button and Circle as cancel.

Layout B Default Controls

Layout B introduces the dodge roll as a more prominent action, which can be crucial for evading attacks during combat. Use this setup if you prioritize combat.

Layout C Default Controls

Layout C uses the trigger buttons to attack. This may be more for players who are used to playing FPS games.

Which Layout Should You Choose?

Each layout offers unique advantages depending on the player's preferred style. Layout A is great for balanced gameplay, Layout B enhances combat, while Layout C has FPS style controls. You may choose based on their comfort level or specific game scenarios, and experimenting with different layouts can lead to discovering the most effective control scheme for individual playstyles.

You can also change the control settings in-game. Press Esc on PC or the Pause (▭) button on controllers to open the Settings tab during gameplay.

How to Fix Controller Not Working or Detected

Always connect your controller before launching the game. CotL can recognize controllers at startup, so plugging it in beforehand ensures it is detected properly.

Make Sure To Check Controller Connections

Ensure that your controller is securely connected to your device. If it’s a wired controller, try using a different USB port. For wireless controllers, make sure they are properly paired and have sufficient battery life.
