Things to Know Before Starting the Game
Rerolling can be done in about 2 minutes per cycle
In MLB RIVALS, you can skip the tutorial, allowing you to reroll in about 2 minutes. Skipping the tutorial means you won't get a Premium Scout Ticket, but Premium Scout Tickets are frequently available, so feel free to skip it.
Aim for Signature or Prime Players
When rerolling, aim for "Signature" or "Prime" players, who have high stats. If you're aiming for Signature players, it's recommended to pull from the Premium Scout. For Prime players, pull from either the Premium Scout or the Pick Up Scout.
Choose Your Favorite Team
When you start the game, you can choose one team. Each team has a different OVR (Overall Rating, an indicator of strength), but the difference in strength can be sufficiently covered through training and FA trades, so it's recommended to choose a team with your favorite players or your favorite club.
Changing Teams is Not Recommended
To make your team stronger, you need to collect players mainly from your own team. If you change teams, you will need to recollect players for the new team, so changing teams after progressing in the game is not recommended.
What to Do Immediately After Starting the Game
Aim to Unlock All Content
Once you start the game, proceed to unlock competitive content and training content. You can unlock them efficiently by following the Guide Missions.
Acquire Players Through Key Player Training and Events
Even in the early game, you can obtain powerful Special cards from Key Player Training and various events. Acquire players who will become the core of your team and strengthen your lineup.
Pull All Favorite Team Support Scouts
Once you've collected Stars from Guide Missions and events, prioritize pulling from the Favorite Team Support Scout. You can pull up to 3 times, allowing you to efficiently obtain players from your chosen team. However, this scout ends 7 days after starting the game, so be sure to pull 3 times before it expires.
Aim for Team OVR 70
After obtaining players from the gacha, train them and aim for a team OVR of 70. Increasing your OVR makes it easier to win matches, and you can increase the rewards obtained from matches and rankings.
There Are 3 Types of Lineups
There are three types of team formations (lineups) depending on the game content. Note that you need to set players in all lineups.
Content Corresponding to Each Lineup
Lineup Type | Corresponding Content |
League Lineup | - League Mode - Friendly Match |
Battle Lineup | - Ranking Matches - Battling Battles - Potential Matches - Event Matches |
LIVE Match Lineup | - LIVE Matches |
Tips for Playing Well
Batting Controls: Swing with Good Timing
When batting, it's important to swing with good timing. The timing of your swing differs depending on the pitcher's pitch type and speed, so it's recommended to practice in "Ranked Slugger," where you only perform batting operations.
Pitching Controls: Pitch to the Cold Zone
Batters have designated preferred courses (Hot Zones) and less preferred courses (Cold Zones). Balls hit in the Cold Zone will have reduced batted ball speed and less distance, so it's recommended to aim for the Cold Zone when pitching.
What to Focus on for Training
Prioritize Training Key Players
In the early game, prioritize training players who can be immediate assets, such as Signature or Prime players, and S-rank LIVE players. In particular, it's good to focus on training 3-4 batters for the core of your lineup and 1-2 starting pitchers to increase the number of matches you can win.
Increase OVR Mainly Through Enhancement and Training
In the early stages, train players through enhancements and training that increase OVR. The higher the player's rarity, the greater the increase in stats, so remember that Signature and Prime players have more room for growth through training.
Recommended Competitive Content
Grind League Mode
League Mode is the most basic content for grinding. You can obtain a wide range of materials necessary for training, so it's recommended to use your spare balls for grinding League Mode.
Event Matches Have Great Rewards
In Event Matches, it's efficient to play aiming for rewards that cannot be obtained in League Mode. Especially for events where you can get Impact or Prime cards for your own team, prioritize consuming balls to acquire rewards.
