This is how to build a deck (lineup) in MLB RIVALS. It covers how to build a deck in the early stages, points to note when forming a lineup, and how to organize FA cards.
How to Build a Deck
- - Increase Team OVR
- - Organize with High Deck Scores
- - Prioritize Prime or Higher Players
- - Organize Rival Pick players
Increase Team OVR
When building a deck, prioritize raising the team's OVR. The team's OVR is the average OVR of the 26 players registered in the deck. Increase the team's OVR by organizing players with high initial OVR or players with high deck scores.
OVR of Bench Players
Especially for bench fielders, they generally have few opportunities to play, so organize players with high deck scores (which increases the target player's abilities) without considering their OVR height. It's good to choose players considering the balance between team deck score and special deck score.
Organize with High Deck Scores
Deck score is a system where buffs are acquired according to the total score of each player organized in the lineup, and the target player's abilities are increased. Since the deck score differs for each player, you can significantly increase your strength by organizing a lineup that considers the score.
Be Mindful of the team Deck Score
There are two types of deck scores: the team deck score, to which the scores of your favorite team's players are added, and the special deck score, to which the scores of special cards (Impact or higher cards) are added. In the early stages, prioritize the team deck score, which is easier to increase, when building your deck.
Activate Synergy
Synergy allows you to acquire an OVR buff if the players organized in the lineup clear the activation conditions based on rarity. Since the OVR buff applies to multiple players, try to build a lineup with player cards that easily activate synergy.
Prioritize Prime or Higher Players
Players like Prime and Signature have high deck scores and can also increase the special deck score, so prioritize organizing them. However, players other than those with top performance in each team's position may be removed from the deck in the long term, so it's advisable to train players moderately.
Organize Rival Pick players

Rival Pick players are selected for a limited time and are high-performance players with OVR+15, enhanced potential abilities, and a deck score of 30. Especially in the early stages, they have performance surpassing special cards, so it's recommended to prioritize organizing them.
Notes When Forming a Lineup
Cannot Organize Outside of Suitable Positions
Each player has 1 or 2 suitable positions. Be careful as you cannot organize them in positions other than their suitable ones.
Utilize players with Two Positions
For players with two suitable positions, their abilities do not change regardless of which position they are organized in. Place them in positions where suitable players are lacking in the lineup and try to build a deck that increases OVR even slightly.
Any Fielder can be DH
A DH (Designated Hitter), who only bats, can be organized even if the fielder does not have a suitable position. Since they do not play defense, place a player specialized in batting performance to lead to scoring.
3 Types of Lineups
There are three types of lineups depending on the game content. Note that you need to organize players in all lineups.

Reinforce Strength with FA Cards
Organize FA Cards from Other Teams\
FA cards are a system that allows you to apply deck score effects to special cards from other teams. Organize high-performance players from other teams in positions where your favorite team is thin to strengthen your team more than ever.
Create a Team with Your Favorite Players
Organizing high-performance FA cards to strengthen your forces is an effective means, but the deck score is higher for genuine players from your favorite team. Therefore, it is recommended to limit FA cards to about 1 to 3 players in the lineup and basically organize genuine players.
