How to Play The Mimic
Select a Story from PLAY
Tap the "PLAY" icon at the bottom of the home screen and select the story you want to play. You can start from any chapter and section you like by going to "PLAY > Create Lobby".
Choose Difficulty and Number of Players
Once you've selected the story you want to play, choose the difficulty and the number of players. You can choose between Normal or Nightmare difficulty, and you can select either single-player mode or multi-player mode for playing with multiple people.
Proceed While Clearing Tasks
In The Mimic, objectives are set at the top of the screen during gameplay. There are tasks such as "Go to XX" or "Collect XX," so complete these tasks to aim for game clear.
Tips for Escaping Monsters
Basically, Keep Doors Open
Open closed doors in houses or buildings when it's safe. Large monsters may not be able to enter small spaces, and it increases the chances of being able to evade them within a room.
Monsters Don't Enter Areas with Shimenawa (Sacred Ropes)
In the first chapter of Jealousy, the monster that appears inside the mansion will not enter rooms with shimenawa (sacred ropes). If you're being chased, escape into a room with shimenawa.
Kēnyo's Monster: Take Shelter Under a Roof
The monster in Kēnyo's location cannot enter under roofs. Always try to walk under a roof when moving.
Monster at the Orb Location: Don't Look Away
The monster that appears where you get the orb has few points to evade it. Its movement is slow, so always keep it in sight and move in the opposite direction of the monster while operating the gimmick.

Jealousy Chapter 1 Walkthrough
Find the Key in the Office
From the starting point, go straight along the path and enter the office on your right. Get the key from the office desk and unlock the door to advance the story.
Get the Candle
When the scene changes, pick up the candle in front of you.
Read the Book in the Back Room
After opening the door where you picked up the candle, go to the right and get the book. Once you finish reading the book, a monster will appear and start attacking.
Find the Rat
After reading the book, find the rat while being careful not to get caught by the monster. You'll hear the rat's squeaking near the room where it is, so use the sound to locate it.
Go to the Garden and Make a Poison Rat at the Well
Once you have the rat, go out to the garden and wash the rat at the well. Washing the rat will create a poison rat.
Use the Poison Rat in the Room with the Bell
From where you made the poison rat, head to the right, enter the room immediately above, and use the poison rat on the bell. The task will progress, so perform "turn a rat into a poison rat and use it on the bell" 3 times.
Leaving the House Completes the Task
Exit the room with the bell and head to the right to find the mansion's exit. Approach the exit and tap "End" to trigger a cutscene, and the game will proceed.
Escape from the Monster
After the cutscene, an event where you escape from the monster will occur. Dash, avoid obstacles, and run through the passage without getting caught by the monster.
Follow the Path
Once you've escaped the monster, follow the path, avoiding bumping into faces, and exit the mansion.
Once Outside, Head Towards the Light
Once outside the mansion, head straight forward using the light as a guide. As you approach the light, there will be a long staircase, so climb to the top.
Proceed While Hiding
When you reach the top of the stairs, a new monster will appear. Hide behind rocks and in bushes, and when the monster moves away, cross the bridge completely. After crossing the bridge, go straight and hit the rocky area to proceed to the next area.
Run and Escape
Once you move to the area beyond the bridge, you'll have to run and escape from a monster. The path is straight with no particular obstacles, so just run through it.
Follow the Path and Talk to the Hitotsume-kozō (One-Eyed Boy)
After escaping the monster, you'll arrive at a village-like place. Follow the path, and talk to the Hitotsume-kozō (One-Eyed Boy) past the houses.
Talk to Kēnyo at the Back of the Village
Go past the Hitotsume-kozō and head to the right side of the village. There's a sandy beach; go to the beach to talk to Kēnyo.
Get the Key Inside the House
Enter the large room at the very back of the village and look for the key. The key is in the location pointed to by the statue inside the house.
Be Careful as a Monster Appears
After talking to Kēnyo, a monster will appear. The monster cannot enter under the eaves, so walk under roofs when moving.
Memorize the 5 Pictures in the 5 Rooms
Including the room where the key was, there are pictures displayed in 5 rooms. These are important for a later puzzle, so memorize the 5 picture designs and note them down. If playing solo, it's recommended to write them in chat or similar.
Trace the Characters in Front of the Rokurokubi
At the Rokurokubi's location, a picture will appear if you trace the specified characters without going outside the lines. If you go outside the lines too much, the Rokurokubi will get you, so be careful.
Unlock the Door and Go Get the Orb
Head to the locked room near the cluster amaryllis (higanbana) and open the door with the key you picked up. A new monster will appear inside the room, so be careful not to advance too far.
Go Around Lighting the Candles Under the Pictures
Once you've unlocked the door, look for the picture designs you found in the 5 rooms. The area spans from the basement to the 2nd floor. If you light all the candles under the pictures you saw in the 5 rooms, an orb will appear in the basement.
Give the Orb to Kēnyo
Once you've collected the orb, go outside, return to the sandy beach, and give the orb to Kēnyo. Giving the orb will advance the story.
Follow the Path to Change Areas
After giving the orb, go straight along the path to change areas. There are jump scares, but there are no instant-death gimmicks, so it's fine to proceed straight ahead.
Light Up the Candles
Go around lighting candles while replenishing oxygen. There are three phases, from Phase 1 to Phase 3. Lighting 2 candles in Phase 1, 3 candles in Phase 2, and 4 candles in Phase 3 will advance the story.
Monster Strategies for Each Floor Here
Candles Reset Each Phase
The candles on each floor reset at the start of each phase. The candles on the 1st floor or next to the elevator in the basement are easy to light, so find candles that are easy for you to light and decide on a route.

Escape from the Monster to Clear
After Phase 3 ends, an event where you escape from a monster will occur. You will respawn in a duct, so crouch and run through it. If you fall down at the end, it will stop chasing you, so then just proceed straight through the duct.
Finally, Go Straight to Reach the Ending
Once you've escaped the monster, continue straight along the path. When you hit the darkness at the dead end, you'll change areas, and the game will be cleared.
