What is Mercenaries Mode?
Timed Enemy Beat 'Em Up Mode
Mercenaries is the highly popular game mode wherein players take on waves upon waves of enemies to get a high score within a set time limit. This includes multiple stages.
Mode Ends When You Die or Exceed Time
The Mercenaries match ends immediately once the timer reaches its end. Dying will also end the match abruptly, but in a game over.
The Higher the Score, the Higher the Rank
You will be awarded a rank with every completion of a Mercenaries match. Starting from E as the lowest to S as the highest, which rank you'll get will depend on the score you manage.
Includes Special Left 4 Dead 2 No Mercy Mode
Play as the survivors of Left 4 Dead 2 in Mercenaries' special game mode - No Mercy. Here you can either play as the survivors or special infected from Left 4 Dead 2 to attack other players.
How to Play Mercenaries Mode
Each Character has a Set of Items
You can choose which character to play in Mercenaries Mode. Each one will have a set items in their inventory that you cannot switch out.
Choose Skills to Fight Your Gameplay
You can also equip Skills to enhance your moves or get more time extenders. Choose which ones that match your gameplay to make the most out of them.
Keep Up Your Combos
Performing combos is essential to raising your overall score in Mercenaries Mode. Time your attacks to ensure they hit. Getting hit by enemies will also cancel out your combos so be careful when in mobs.
Perform Special Attacks
Special attacks like Coup de Grace and counters adds extra points and time whenever you perform them. Whenever you get a chance to do them, take it!
Focus on Survival
Dying is an immediate game over. When you find yourself being overwhelmed, choose to distance yourself and heal instead of continuing to fight.
Collect Time Extenders
There will be time extenders that you can pick up to extend the time limit. There are multiple types of them with each adding different amounts of time.
