Moving Story Forward Is Permanent
In RAGE 2, going through story progression is permanent. You won't be able to go back to certain parts of the game unless you start a completely new game due to the lack of a New Game+ option.

RAGE 2 will have no choices & decisions to make that will affect the outcome of the story. However, multiple missions can appear at once and you can choose which missions to take on first.
Gender Choice Is Permanent
At the start of the game, you'll have to choose to play as a male or female protagonist. This decision is locked throughout the game.

RAGE 2 will have free post-game downloadable content (DLC) and monthly updates & events. The first event is slated this May titled "Bring the Ruckus", which will feature Ruckus the Crusher.
