How To Unlock Versus Mode
Purchase Untold Stories Bundle Or Gold Edition
Versus mode is a purchasable DLC that comes with Resident Evil 5's Untold Stories bundle or the Gold edition of the game. You must buy these bundles or editions to play Versus mode.
Choose Under Extra Content Option
Once purchased & installed, you can activate Versus mode by going to Extra Content in the game's menu.
Host Or Join A Game
Once you press Start, you can choose whether you want to host or join a game. Hosting is better for friends playing together while joining a game is for players who want to go at it solo.
Customize Game Mode When Hosting Game
When you host a game, you can choose the different game modes for the match. There are 4 types - Slayers, Survivors, Team Slayers, and Team Survivors. You can play as singles or 2v2 in these match ups.
Pick From Available Sessions When Joining
If you decide to join a match instead, you get to choose your options to a certain extent. You can check from available online public sessions.
What Is Versus Mode?
Online Player Versus Player Game Mode
Versus mode in Resident Evil 5 is the game's version of online PVP. RE fans can fight it out with other RE fans or band together to defeat another team of players.
Requires Internet Connection
Playing Versus mode requires an internet connection. For Playstation users, Playstation Plus is required to play online.
