Mercenaries United - Unlock & Play
Complete Main Story Mission First
Before being able to play Mercenaries United, you need to complete the main story of Resident Evil 5 first. Once done, you can access this mode under the Extra Content tab when you start the game.

When you've unlocked The Mercenaries United mode, you can choose this option under Extra Content. This will put you into the mini-game opening screen.
Choose Gameplay Mode & Settings
Select Solo, Duo, Split Screen Or No Mercy
After pressing Start, you'll be prompted to choose if you want to play Solo, Duo, Split Screen, or No Mercy - an unlimited mode where more enemies will spawn.
Select Stage To Fight In
After choosing your gameplay mode, you need to select the arena you'll face off with your enemies. There are 8 stages you can choose from.
Select Character To Use
After the stage is selected, you need to choose between available characters. These include the different outfits of Chris & Sheva plus extra characters like Jill, Wesker, among others. All characters have their own unique loadouts.
Fight Enemies Until Time Runs Out
The goal of The Mercenaries United is for players to fight an onslaught of foes until a set timer runs out. Time bonuses extend the stage and the longer players fight, the harder the opponents become.
Mercenaries United - Gameplay Tips
Pick Up Time Bonuses
Explore the area and make sure to spot & grab time bonuses. These add 60 seconds to your overall timer, elongating the stage and allowing you to earn more points thus increasing your rank at the end of the stage.
Keep Combo Up
If you defeat enemies one after the other, you'll receive a combo. Raking up combos will increase your points and make your rank higher at the end of the stage. Always keep your combos up & avoid making it go back to zero.
Use Grenades Or Environment
Stages will always have grenades to pick up, explosive gas barrels, or electric generators that you can use to deal with huge mobs of enemies. Utilize these to crowd control and deal with tougher foes.
Don't Die Or Round Will Restart
Keep your health up and make sure you don't end up dying. If you die, you'll have to restart the stage and you'll lose any points you've accumulated in the previous round.
What Is Mercenaries United?
Defeat Enemies In Specific Area
The Mercenaries United is a Resident Evil mini-game that places players in an enclosed area to fight off droves of enemies. A timer is set and players have to survive, defeating foes & raking up points to get a higher rank at the end.
Earn Points For Unlocking Bonus Features
When you complete a stage and timer runs out, you'll be rewarded with points. These points can be used to unlock infinite ammo, player costumes, and more in the Bonus Features.
