What Are Emergency Meetings?

A Way To Convene Immediately

Emergency Meetings
Emergency Meeting Mechanics
1・Can only be start by pressing a button in a fixed, map-specific location
2・There is a predetermined cooldown at the start of each round
3・Can only be used a predetermined number of times per player
4・Cannot be started during a Sabotage (not including doors)

The Emergency Button and by extension Emergency Meeting is a hugely important tool for Crewmates. It forces everyone to stop what they're doing, have a discussion session, and potentially vote someone out. This means you don't have to wait for someone to die and a body to be found to vote. This is an incredibly useful tool that should not be wasted!

Limited Uses Per Crewmate

Emergency Meetings

The number of times a crewmate can press the emergency button and start an Emergency Meeting varies according to the game settings. In the majority of games played online these days, the limit is 1 use per Crewmate. Use this wisely and don't let it go to waste! This is a key way of increasing communication among Crewmates.

Cooldown At The Start Of The Round

Emergency Meetings

Note that, depending on the game settings, it's possible that emergency meetings will have a cooldown at the beginning of the match. This means that you cannot immediately start a meeting after one has ended. Luckily, the Imposter's Kill ability has an initial cooldown, though this is also determined by the game's settings.

If the cooldown on Kill is longer than the Emergency Meeting cooldown, you should have no problem. However, it's possible that the Imposter will sabotage lights, so be ready to react in time.

How To Use Emergency Meetings Efficiently

Prevent A Kill

The most obvious use of the emergency meeting is to prevent a kill. The most typical example of this is after you saw someone come out of a vent. As soon as you see this happen, make a bolt for the button! The imposter is likely to be coming right behind you to kill you.

Use To Improve Crewmate Communication

Emergency Meetings

One way to use Emergency Meetings effectively is to maximize inter-Crewmate communication. What this means specifically is using them as an opportunity to share task info, plan group outings to certain locations, and discuss who is suspicious.

Sharing Tasks & Group Outings

Task sharing often works better in the later rounds of the game. If your bar is about 80% of the way there, you may want to have one person call a meeting to discuss who has remaining tasks. At that point, have at least 2 people go with them (assuming 1 Imposter left) to their location and confirm.

This works best on an individual who has verified themselves by doing a Visual Task. If you do verify yourself to everyone, however, you might be targeted by the Imposter more assertively, so don't move around alone.
