Before we go to the main topic, let us discuss what this Portable Gaming Speaker is. TQ-PG300 is from the absolute classic Audio Manufacturer, Pioneer Corporation! The product is from their new brand "SOUND TECTOR" and was first introduced during the event, Tokyo Game Show 2024.

This product works with Nintendo Switch and the portable gaming device that is based on Android, Pimax Portal.

It is also very easy to use. You just need to plug the USB Type-C located at the lower part of the device into the game console.

▲ Pull the speaker part of the device then insert the console into the plug. The plug can be moved for ease of setup.

After plugging, the device will automatically be recognized by the gaming console and a high-quality sound will be emitted from the top part of the device.

The device will use power from the game console so there is no need to charge the speaker. If you are worried about battery consumption, there is a charging port available at the left part of the speaker. This allows you to charge while playing games with the game console.

Now that we know about the general details of the product, let us proceed with the playtest! We decided to test this speaker on three genres: Rhythm, Horror, and Party games.

[No. 1: Rhythm Games] You can Hear even the Slightest Detail

For rhythm games, the sound quality is directly linked to the gameplay. We tried the game in the Switch version of Melatonin, a game that is about merging dreams and reality. This game is known for its unique pastel-colored worldview.

Upon using the Portable Gaming Speaker TQ-PG300 in the game, we noticed that you can hear even the smallest sound. Also after clearing the game, you are able to hear sound effects that are not heard when playing with Switch alone. For example, in the stage where Bass Music is prevalent, "Dream about Exercise", the device improves the thickness of the bass making it easier to keep the rhythm allowing players to get better scores.

It is also fun to hear various sounds like in the "Dreaming about Food" stage, a stage where the player eats Pizza and Burgers in a rhythm, you can also hear crunching and munching sounds. You will sometimes hear "munch" clearly which made us appreciate the attention to detail by the game producers more.

It is normal for rhythm games to be more difficult as you tackle higher stages. This also allowed us to realize another amazing factor for this device. In the "Dream about Tech" stage, wherein beeping or electronic effects are the main sounds produced, selecting the Hard level will increase the number of notes to follow. When it comes to those sounds, the speaker has a great balance between various sound effects. It does not just increase the volume; it softens the sounds that should be soft and amplifies the ones that should be loud.

The device also has a "Wide Mode" that will give you an immersive experience of sounds directly to your ears. There are many rhythm games and music. This device adds depth to the music that can complete your personal gaming experience.

[No. 2: Horror Games] The Birth of the Scariest Combination!

Similar to Rhythm Games, Horror Games also has "sound" as a key factor for the experience. Sound is especially important for creating the eerie atmosphere and movements of various objects in-game. In this test, we played the Yowamari: Night Alone (Android Version). A game where the player is a little girl who is searching for her pet dog in a haunted town.

In conclusion, this speaker and horror games is a Terrifying Combination. The game is packed with shocking elements such as ghosts suddenly appearing and loud noises being heard.

With TQ-PG300, you will feel it 2... no! 3 times scarier than usual! This will surely make your heart pound and palms sweaty.

If you increase the sound quality, you can also experience sounds that show quietness. For example, while exploring the School at night, you can clearly hear the sounds of bugs crawling and the sound of grass. This enhances the reality of the game further increasing the scariness of the game.

We tested the device using the game, All You Need is Help (Switch) . A game where you cooperate with friends or people online to solve various puzzles!

This game has plenty of voice lines for various characters and with this Portable Gaming Speaker, you can hear those lines clearly. The game contains various lines like I feel like singing something~ and I'm here to shake things up! Will give additional atmosphere to the game making it more enjoyable especially when playing with friends. The speaker also improves communication between players.
