There's the "Tiger" mode, effective in 1v1 fights, and the "Crane" mode, effective in group battles, which can be switched during battle using the Physical Switch. Switch modes according to the situation.

Unlock Other Skills with SP

Skills

You can unlock new skills. Unlocking them requires Skill Points (SP). SP can be obtained in various ways, such as by winning battles or progressing through the story.

Lock On to Enemies with R1

By entering a stance, you can lock on to any nearby enemy. While in a stance, you can move without turning your back to the enemy.

Skills Change with □ and △ Combinations

Finishing Blows change depending on the combination of □ and △ inputs. By leveling up, you can branch into even more skills.

Grab Enemies or Weapons to Attack

Grab

By grabbing an enemy, you can nullify their guard . After grabbing an enemy, pressing △ or □ can lead to attacks or EX Actions.

Unleash Powerful EX Actions

EX

Use EX Actions, which are more powerful than normal attacks or combo attacks. They require the EX Gauge to use. EX Actions can be activated, for example, when holding a weapon.

Cannot Guard Attacks from Behind

Attacks from behind, blades, or bullets cannot be guarded. Try to avoid letting enemies get behind you as much as possible.

Beware of Unblockable Attacks

Be careful, as your guard can be broken by grab attacks or guard break attacks. However, you can counter these by learning skills .

Use Sway to Avoid Unguardable Attacks

Basic attacks can be blocked with Guard, but for unguardable attacks, use Sway to dodge . It can be activated by pressing × while in a stance.

Wall Jumps Can Lead to Other Attacks

Wall Jumps can evade almost all attacks. Furthermore, during a Wall Jump, pressing □, △, or ○ can lead to a Wall Jump attack. However, learning the skill is necessary to connect it to an attack.
