Tips for Drone Race (D-League) Strategy

Determine the Right Timing to Use Turbo

Course

The turbo usable in drone races can provide even more acceleration when used in conjunction with acceleration panels. Using turbo in areas where acceleration panels are concentrated can allow you to quickly overtake others.

Customize

Customization

Customizing your drone to match the course features will further improve your time. If you encounter a difficult course, first check your drone's customization.

Parts Can Be Obtained in Single Races

Reward

If you place within the top 3 in a single race, you will receive rewards based on your rank. If necessary parts are available as rewards, actively participate in single races.

Can Also Be Purchased at Shops

Besides single races, parts can also be purchased at shops. If you're not confident in racing, buy parts from the shop and customize before challenging.

Let's Learn Skills

By unlocking skills, you can perform a start dash and further improve maneuverability. Unlock skills before challenging the D-League.

List of Drone-Related Skills

Skill NameDescription
Drone PilotReduces the effect of wind during operation
Drone Pilot +Further reduces the effect of wind during operation
Drone Pilot ++Completely nullifies the effect of wind during operation
Start Dash [Recommended]Enables start dash in races
ProtectionWhen drone durability reaches 0, it remains at 1 durability once

Timing is Key for Start Dash

The trick to a successful start dash is, during the countdown before the start, move forward simultaneously with the '1' count. Playing with sound on makes it easier to succeed.

Recommended Customizations for Beginners

Customize for the Beginner League

Customization

The first league you can challenge in drone races is the Beginner League. If you find the controls difficult or can't win, customize your drone.

Develop a Frame that Increases Cost Limit

Frame

When challenging the Beginner League, you can purchase a frame with a cost limit of 140. The difficulty of obtaining the necessary materials is not high, so purchase the frame with a cost limit of 140.

Prepare Paint

Paint is required to develop frames. If you're not particular about the design, it's quickest to make it with paint sold at Ebisu Pawn.

Select Parts that Increase Quickness

When developing parts, choose parts that increase quickness rather than speed in the early stages when you're not used to the controls. If you increase speed too much, you won't be able to keep up with the speed when you want to turn, and the drone will break easily, so be careful.

MotorSMZ: Motor Q31614
PropellerSMZ: Propeller Q2616

Consult Remaining Cost for Turbo and ESC

Since motors and propellers consume a lot of cost, decide on Turbo and ESC based on the remaining cost. In particular, developable ESCs are expensive, so the Low-Cost ESC obtainable through Quickstarter is recommended.

Become Friends with Sebastian Hutton After Winning

Customization

After winning the Beginner League, Sebastian Hutton will appear at the drone race venue. By talking to him, 2D codes will appear throughout Kamurocho, and scanning all of them for each part will allow you to develop new parts.

Course Types and Features

Reverse Means Reverse Course

Courses marked with 'Reverse' are the reverse of the original course. The overall layout of the course does not change, so line-taking and other aspects remain largely the same.

Sinple Load

Course

It's a simple course, but you can shorten your time by timing your turbo usage and taking the inside line.

Wide way

Course

This course has wide tracks and many straights, making drone speed very important. Having a high-performance motor will make it easier to conquer.

Northern Canyon

Course

This course has drastic ups and downs, making line-taking very difficult. The camera also shakes up and down, making it a course that easily causes motion sickness.

Break Through Cafe

Course

The point where you break through M SIDE CAFE at the end is the most difficult part. Until you get used to it, it's recommended to use the brakes to pass through.

Long&Narrow

Course

This course features many long and narrow sections. The key to victory is navigating without hitting obstacles, so customizations that improve maneuverability are good.

What are Drone Races (D-League)?

Race Through Kamurocho Using Drones

Customization

This is a league where you use drones to race through Kamurocho and determine the fastest. With various race tracks, from simple courses to those requiring precise control, it's a minigame you can enjoy without getting bored.

Unlocked in the Middle of Chapter 2

Drone races (D-League) are unlocked while progressing through the main story of Chapter 2. If you want to play the D-League, complete Chapter 2 of the main story first.

Challenge the League Matches

In drone races, you can challenge 5 leagues. Each league consists of 5 races, and points are awarded for the results of each race. The final ranking is determined by the total sum of awarded points.

Winning Unlocks Higher Leagues

Initially, you will challenge the Beginner League, and winning it will allow you to challenge higher leagues. First, aim to win the Beginner League.
