Character Origin & Backstory

King K. Rool made his debut in 1994 in Donkey Kong Country. He is the leader of the Kremlings and his favortie hobby is stealing Donkey Kong's bananas.

Did You Know? Facts About the Fighter

King K. Rool appears as the last boss in Donkey Kong Country. He will pretend to be defeaterd during the fight. After the fake ending and "THE END?" shows up, he will get up and attack again.

3 Unlock Methods Available

There are in total, 3 ways of unlocking / adding new character to your roster in SSBU. By completing either one of these condition will unlock these Fighter to be used in Smash Mode and Classic Mode.

Bury Enemies with Downward Throw

Throw a grabbed opponent downward to bury them in the ground. The more damage an opponent has, the longer they will stay buried.

Belly Super Armor

Some attacks, like side tilt attacks and neutral air attacks, cause King K. Rool's belly to have super armor. This allows you to land attacks even when getting hit by incoming attacks.

Belly Cracks

His belly's super armor is very reliable, but once it takes damage, a crack will appear. The crack will grow as it takes more damage, until finally King K. Rool becomes stunned while his belly heals.

Blast-o-Matic - Final Smash

MARIO Eyecatch
Blast-o-Matic
King K. Rool charges forward. He then fires the Blast-o-Matic from his fortress, striking nay fighters he hit with his first attack. This blast completely destroys Donkey Kong island, dealing serious damage and launching fighters.

Fires an iron ball from his gun. The button can be held to suck the iron ball (or opponents) back in.

Rises up into the air wearing a propeller, damaging any opponents caught in the attack.

Counterattacks with his belly. Cannot be used continuously, and does not protect from behind.
