Character Origin & Backstory

Mewtwo first appears in Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue. After the trainer comes out victorious in the Pokémon League, Mewtwo can be found in a cave on the outskirts of Cerulean City.

Mewtwo was born from recombined genes of a Mythical Pokémon, Mew. Its fighting ability is incredibly high, and it's said to have the most savage heart among Pokémon.

There are in total, 3 ways of unlocking / adding new character to your roster in SSBU. By completing either one of these condition will unlock these Fighter to be used in Smash Mode and Classic Mode.

Forward Throw to Attack Multiple Enemies

Mewtwo will throw an enemy and quickly fire Shadow Ball five times. Each projectile doesn't do much damage, but it can hit multiple foes.

Up Throw - Powerful Way of Lifing Enemies

Mewtwo's up throw boasts top class launching power compared to all other fighter's throw moves. It's super effective in situations where there is no ceiling.

Beware of Being Launched

Despite Mewtwo's fiece appearance, Mewtwo is very light and easy to launch. When playing as Mewtwo, you'll need to prioritize your defense and evasion as much as your offense.

Psystrike
Mewtwo Mega Evolves into Mega Mewtwo Y and fires a projectile that freezes and launches every foe it hits. This move travels through landscapes and opponents, making it easy to hit multiple opponents.

Warps instantly to another location. Directional input determines the destination.

Makes eye contact with an enemy to stun them. Ineffective when airborne or not facing an opponent.
