Character Origin & Backstory

Kirby made his debut in 1992 in Kirby's Dream Land for the Game Boy. The goal of his journey was to recover stolen food from King Dedede.

Kirby is a big eater who inhales any and everything. If he inhales an enemy, he can copy and use one of their abilities. He's also good at hovering by flapping his arms and puffing up like a balloon.

There are in total, 3 ways of unlocking / adding new character to your roster in SSBU. By completing either one of these condition will unlock these Fighter to be used in Smash Mode and Classic Mode.

Dash Attack Has Automatic Brakes Near Ledges

Kirby twists through the air like a flaming screw as he charges into an opponent. He's not a reckless fellow, so he'll automatically stop at edges instead of going over them.

Use Taunt to Disgard Copied Powers

Taunt to discard your current Copy Ability. Find the most opportune moment to change your ability!

6-time Air Jump to Recover

Kirby's light body lets him jump six times—more than most other fighters. If Kirby gets launched but not KO'd, you can almost bet he's coming back!

Kirby swings a sowrd that's waaaaay bigger than he is. Make sure the first swing connects with an opponent, or nothing else happens.

Jumps high into the air, striking on the way up and on the way down. Creates a shock wave when landing.

Turns into a heavy object and plummets downward, taking no damage while transformed.
