Character Origin & Backstory

Link first appeared in The Legend of Zelda on the NES. Even back then, he had a wide inventory of items, including the Bow, Bommerang, and Bombs.

There are in total, 3 ways of unlocking / adding new character to your roster in SSBU. By completing either one of these condition will unlock these Fighter to be used in Smash Mode and Classic Mode.

Shield Guards & Negates All Projectiles

Link's Hylian Shield is capable ot stopping even the most powerful of projectiles. This means you won't take any damage at all.

Shoot Sword Beams with Side Smash Attack while Full HP

If Link's damage is at 0 or he has full stamina in a Stamina battle, he can shoot a sword beam by using his side smash attack.

Powerful Dash Attack Deals Hefty Damage

Link's dash attack strikes with almost as much force as a smash attack. The point of his sword is especially painful.

Ancient Bow and Arrow - Final Smash

Ancient Bow and Arrow
Link shoots an Ancient Arrow that flies straight ahead. If the arrow hits an opponent or the terrain, it explodes. you can only hit one fighter, but the explosion also launches nearby opponents.

Throws a boomerang diagonally. The control stick can be flicked for extra power and distance.
Up Super
(↑ + B)
17.8%[Spin Attack ]
Strikes opponents while spinning. Acts as a jump if used in midair.
Down Super
(↓ + B)
8.4%[Remote Bomb]
Creates a remote bomb with a Sheikah Slate. Down special again detonates it.
