Character Origin & Backstory

Donkey Kong, the arcade classic, was released in 1981. In that game, the heroine known as Lady was kidnapped and Dongkey Kong tried to stop Mario from rescuing her.

There are in total, 3 ways of unlocking / adding new character to your roster in SSBU. By completing either one of these condition will unlock these Fighter to be used in Smash Mode and Classic Mode.

DONKEY KONG - Featured Video

Toss Enemy in Your Preferred Direction with Kong Karry (Forward Throw)

You'll toss opponents diagonally upward when throwing forward, toss them high when throwing backward, and launch them low when tossed down. Throwing them up is a great start to a combo.

Rip Open Enemy Guard With Powerful Moves

Donkey Kong can use his side special Headbutt and his down special Hand Slap to damage or even shatter his foes' shields.

4 Moves with Metor Effect (Hit Enemy Downward)

Four of Donkey Kong's moves have a meteor effect—his forward air attack, down air attack, midair side special, and the second hit of his midair down special.

Jungle Rush
Donkey Kong pummels opponents with a flurry of punches before launching them with a finishing uppercut. If the first hit doesn't make contact, the whole attack fails so make sure to get that hit in.

Sends out shock waves by slapping the ground, sending foes into the air. Has a meteor effect while airborne.
