What Are Types?

Type Refers to Sync Pair's Main Elements

Types

Type refers to a Sync Pair's main elements. It relates to what moves the Sync Pair can use and what weaknesses they have, so be sure to check both your team's and enemy's Types before a fight.

One Weakness Per Sync Pair

One Weakness Each

Different from previous series, there is only one weakness per Sync Pair in Pokemon Masters. Just because the Pair is flaming doesn't mean water is it's weakness, so check the weakness icon on its health bar.

Exploit Weaknesses For more Damage

Super effective

A Sync pair struck with a damage type that's their weakness will receive more damage. To clear out tough enemies faster, focus on bringing team members that has its weakness types.

Friend & Foe Alike Has A Weakness

Everyone has a weakness

Your team members and enemies alike all have weaknesses. In higher difficulty quests, you will need to look out for your weaknesses as well.

Same Damage For Non-Weakness Attack

Type And Weakness Explained-Same Damage

Different from previous series, if a type attack does not target a Sync Pair's weakness, it has the same damage with every other non-weakness attack types. This means that you have more freedom in developing your Sync Pairs.

How To Verify Type Weaknesses

Find Out On The Pre-Battle Screen

Check Weakness

You can check enemy weaknesses right near the top on the pre-battle screen. it will give crucial insight on how to form your team, so be sure to check it before every battle.

Weakness Icon on HP Bar

Forgot to check your enemy's weaknesses?Don't worry: their weaknesses are shown above the HP bar. While you can't swap members after battle starts, if your team member has a attack type that's their weakness, be sure to exploit it for extra damage.
