What Is The Equipment Launcher?
Additional Support Weaponry

The Equipment Launcher is directly attached to the Doom Slayer's Praetor Suit, allowing the player to make use of a variety of tools to combat the demon horde. During the course of the game, several options will be unlocked & available for the player to use.
3 Tools Of The Trade

There are 3 types of equipment that the player can use with the Equipment Launcher: Frag Grenades, Flame Belch, and Ice Bombs. These three are acquired during the early levels and are indispensable equipment in surviving and clearing out the demons.
Recharges Automatically
You do not have to get ammo for the equipment launcher. The Flame Belch, Frag Grenade, and the Ice Bomb automatically restock after sometime.
Equipment Is Upgradeable

You can use Praetor Suit Points to enhance the effects of your Frag Grenade and Ice Bomb. For the Flame Belch, you can upgrade it using Sentinel Crystals. Allotting points into them and upgrading them can extend their effectiveness in certain conditions.

Frag Grenade - Upgrades & How To Unlock
Use To Clear Enemy Mobs

The Frag Grenade is a straightforward tool that can be used to clear mobs of enemy demons. Just lob it in and wait for a few seconds for it to explode. You can also use it to damage larger demons.
Use To Defeat The Cacodemon

The Cacodemon can easily be staggered by using lobbing a Frag Grenade directly into its mouth. Use this to quickly and easily Glory Kill it and get health.

The Frag Grenade can be upgraded using a Praetor Suit Points that you can acquire during the course of the main story.

Faster Frag Cooldown | 3 | Takes less time to cooldown after firing. |
Combustion Concussion | 3 | The grenade emits a second, larger, non-damaging explosion that Falters Demons. |
Scatter Bombs | 4 | Each Demon killed by the grenade explosion spawns scatter bombs. |
Frag Stock Up | 5 | Fire twice before requiring a recharge. |
Unlocked In Mission 1

The Frag Grenade can be found inside a destroyed subway train in the first mission, Hell on Earth. You cannot miss it as you have to go through it to progress.

Use To Get Armor Shards

The Flame Belch burns enemies for a short duration. Burning enemies, when damaged, give off Armor Shards that you can collect to refill your armor. Use it as an opening when battling a large group as this can be useful in giving you another layer of protection.
Very Useful Against Super Heavies

If upgraded, the Flame Belch can burn and last longer when battling Heavy and Super Heavy demons. This helps in protecting you from them as you gain armor while damaging them.

The Flame Belch relies on Sentinel Crystals to upgrade. It benefits from the passive abilities unlocked by using 2 Sentinel Crystals.

The Flame Belch can be unlocked in the Fortress Of Doom before you jump into the second mission, Exultia.

Immobilize Demons In Place

The Ice Bomb can be used to keep enemies in place and leave them open for you to shoot at. It also works against Super Heavy demons, allowing you to either escape or finish them off without any problems.
Combo With Other Tools

If you were able to freeze large groups of enemies in place, lob a Frag Grenade in the middle to blast them to bits. Also, you can burn enemies with the Flame Belch and then freeze them in place for easier killing and armor shard farming.

The Ice Bomb can be upgraded using a Praetor Suit Points that you can acquire during the course of the main story.

Unlocked In Mission 3

The Ice Bomb can be acquired before proceeding to Mission 3, Cultist Base. It will be given in the Fortress Of Doom before you jump to the portal leading to the mission.
