What Are Glory Kills?
Essential Part Of Core Combat Loop

Knowing when and how to time your Glory Kills are essential skills in playing DOOM Eternal. This incentivizes aggression and is also considered as an essential action as it increases your survivability when fighting against mobs of enemies.

Glory Kills are finisher executions that causes demons to drop health upon kill, allowing you to continue your fight. Also, the lower your health, the more health is given after executing a glory kill.

You can take advantage of the scripted glory kill to shield yourself from incoming attacks. Although you are invincible, enemies can still move around and can put you in precarious positions.
Chainsaw Kills Has Similar Usage For Ammo

The Chainsaw works similarly to glory kills, killing enemies in a single bloody swipe and spawning pools of Ammo instead of health. Your Chainsaw can be used again after a cooldown, or can be immediately recharged with the Gas Canister pick up item.

More powerful demons, such as the Hell Knights require multiple fuel charges when attempting to kill with a Chainsaw. It is recommended you save a few extra fuel charge for use on fodder enemies for ammo, or your life saver in a pinch.
How To Do Glory Kills
Damage Enemy to Stagger for Glory Kill

Dealing enough damage or dealing a critical blow (ex. lobbing a sticky bomb in Cacodemon's mouth) will trigger a stagger motion. While staggered, the enemies will be highlighted with a flash, are susceptible to glory kill finishers. Enemies will, however, will be able to recover from stagger state after a set amount of time.

Highlighted enemies are ones that you can Glory Kill. Take note of the color of the highlights as they indicate if they are within range of a glory kill.

Can Be Targeted To Complete Challenges

You can target specific enemy body parts to execute a Glory Kill. Simply orient yourself to which limb or side you want and press the Glory Kill button to execute. Some challenges will require you to target specific body parts so be mindful of your position and target if you're gunning to complete them!
