How To Obtain Dark Zone East Recon
This side mission is unlocked by recruiting staff member named "Senait Ezera" in the Theater Settlements. To recruit her, simply complete enough Story Missions for the Theater Settlement.

Dark Zone East Recon - Walkthrough Chart

| 1 | Head towards the mission marker in East Mall near the Capitol Building |
| 2 | Eliminate the hostiles near the entrance to Dark Zone East |
| 3 | Open the Dark Zone gate using the marked laptop |
| 4 | Enter the Dark Zone East checkpoint |
| 5 | Reach the marked scan location |
| 6 | Tag the marked supplies in the scan location. Take out enemies in the area |
| 7 | Reach the second marked scan location |
| 8 | Activate the ECHO. Prepare for a fight after the ECHO completes playback |
| 9 | Reach the marked Safe Room |
| 10 | Start the generator using the marked switches inside the Safe Room |
| 11 | Reactivate security systems by interacting with the marked laptop |
| 12 | Exit the safe area through the marked door |
| 13 | Reach the marked contaminated gear |
| 14 | Head towards the marked extraction zone |
| 15 | Call for extraction and wait for the extraction helicopter. Once it arrives, attach your loot on the rope |
| 16 | Return to the Dark Zone East checkpoint |
| 17 | Neutralize the hostiles guarding the checkpoint |
| 18 | Reactivate the turret. This will automatically aim and shoot incoming enemies |
| 19 | Exit the Dark Zone through the checkpoint and head towards the SHD Terminal to upload map data |
Dark Zone East Recon Mission Tips & Tricks
2. Pick Off Enemies With A Marksman Rifle
Use your marksman rifle to take out enemies from a distance. This early on in the game, enemies can hit really hard up close without the right gear.
8. Prioritize Attacking Hyena Rushers & Tank
Hyena Rushers Spawn As ECHO Ends
As soon as ECHO playback ends, enemies will spawn. Hyena Rushers rush in with their axes to deal heavy melee damage. Don't let them get close. Shoot their satchels to slow them down.

Upon clearing the area, a Hyena Tank will appear. Beware of this enemy as it can deal heavy damage with its LMG. Take it out from afar using your marksman rifle.
17. Use Grenade To Clear Hostiles
Chuck in a grenade to startle and clear out hostiles instantly. This leaves you with less enemies to deal with.
