DOOMS Ability Strength Differ According to Birthdays
Prompted to Input Birthday at Beginning of the Game
| Statistical analysis has indicated that DOOMS abilities vary according to the sufferer's date of birth. In order to establish your own ability levels, please enter your birthday. |
Upon first starting your game, you will be prompted to add a birthday for your character. There are also mention that the DOOMS ability varies according to the subject's date of birth.
Subject Under Certain Constellation is a Stronger DOOMS
| Higher levels of DOOMS abilities have been observed in those born under constellations such as Cancer, Pisces, Cetus, Delphinus, and Gigas. |
Cancer, Pisces, Cetus, Delphinus, and Gigas all points to a constellation of sorts. These names all points to constellations & you will "fall" under that constellation when your birthday matches the time it is visible in the sky in real life.

Will Birthday Affect Your DOOMS Ability?

Due to the lack of evident status or value defining the strength of DOOMS in Death Stranding, this may not be important choice giving lasting effects.
May Just Be Character Setting
Under the game lore,Sam's DOOMS Level is evaluated as Level 2 (Just strong enough to sense BTs near by), whereas Fragile seems to have a stronger DOOMS, being able to see BTs with naked eye. But since we do not have the information about canonical birthday of each character, there are currently no way of knowing the relation of these factors.
No Evident Effect Recorded When Testing Other Cast's Birthday (& Kojima)
We have tested by inputting other notable character's actor birthday into the option, without seeing any visible results. We have also inputted the creator, Kojima's birthday which also made no difference.
