What Is The Odradek Scanner?
Your All-Purpose Terrain Scanner
Your Odradek (the star like thing on your left) is your character's all - purpose sensor & scanner that doubles as a Cargo Scanner and others. It will provide valuable data on your surroundings and provide key info.
Doubles As Cargo Scanner

Scans BT With BB Connected
When you have your BB (Bridge Baby) connected, odradek will point to the nearest BT (Beached Things) within range. Also, by using a scan, BTs will be rendered a bit more visible, helping you evade them better.What Is BB (Bridge Baby) Guide
How To Use Odradek Scanner
Scan By Pressing R1
Use your Odradek to emit a scan of nearby terrain and objects by pressing R1 of your controller. It will give off terrain markers or info on your surroundings, letting you determine how difficult the terrain are.
Scan For BTs

Approach To Check Cargo Data
Check cargo data by following its markers and approaching it. You can read its status and intended destinations, and decide if you want to pick it up or not. The intended recipients will thank you gladly if you deliver it to them!
How To Read Your Odradek Terrain Scans
Find Out About Terrain Traverse Difficulty
One of the most important function of the Odradek terrain scanner, which shows the difficulty of surrounding terrains based on icons. The brighter the icon color, the greater the risks.
Terrain Marker And Meanings
|Safe Terrain||No Penalties.|
|Steep Terrain||Steep terrain that's hard to get a reliable foothold. Drains Endurance Gauge.|
|Dangerous, Treacherous Terrain||Terrain that poses significant risk to movement. May cause topple or falling down.|
|Impassable Terrain||Terrain too steep or dangerous to be traversed.|
|Water: Shallow||Shallow water that's easier to traverse, but will still drain Endurance Gauge.|
|Water: Deep||Deep water that rapidly drains Endurance Gauge/ Swept away if gauge reaches zero.|
|Water: Very Deep||Immediately swept away, losing cargo and even your life.|
|Tall Grass||Hide from sight by staying in tall grass. Crouching makes you even harder to spot.|
