PS Plus Subscriptions Not Needed
According to Kojima Productions, Playstation's online subscription PS Plus will not be needed to enjoy the full online features of Death Stranding.

Share & Send Gadgets Or Equipment

Playing Death Stranding online allows you to leave imprints in other players games as well as receive these signs from other players. You can share gadgets & equipment including ladders, vehicles, safe houses, and supplies.

Build Structures For Other Players

You will be able to create structures that help other Sams on their journey. You can create bridges over rivers, and even safehouses for other Sams to take refuge. Other Sams can also help create these structures by leaving materials!

Note that these structures may not last forever. The Timefall accelerates the passing of time, which can then degrade these structures. You may need to repair these structures if they were affected by the Timefall.

While venturing out in the world, you may come across discarded or lost cargo from other Sams. You can pick these up and deliver them to their destinations. Other players may do the same for your lost or discarded cargo!
Entrust Cargo to Your Anonymous Allies

You can also choose to help out those in need by entrusting items and resources to other players at the delivery terminal. This Entrusting will work both ways; you can also receive help from your anonymous allies when in need!
Send & Receive Battle Assistance

You can also request for help or assist other players in the middle of the battle to some extent. Features have yet to be fully announced so details will be updated once confirmed.
